The most wonderful time of the year has finally arrived. Added a .22 cal Diana 34 "refurb" to keep my .177 company. It has the T5 trigger (liking the single-stage) and the "crappy" 12-land barrel that stacks 16 grain JSBs in tight little groups. It was time to get it out and "blood" it at my permission. Ranges were from 18-36 yards.

Very nice shooting there sir.

My wife didn't grow up in a hunting family, yet I knew I married the right lady. Her squirrel pot pie:

LMBO @ "Somewhere in Canada" You know if you put your exact location on there you would have half of the GTA population in line at your door for a hunk of that pie !!!

Your nutters look like they went through an oil slick! I've always wondered but never asked...is there a survival advantage to that color? Seems like a gray and white color would be to their advantage. Or do you live up there in Coalmont next to Bob? :)
Nice shooting and it looks like you have a good lady there as well.

Great shooting and pic and the phase black nutters are here in MI. also. I've seen them when I'm nutter hunting but they seemed to be even more elusive then the Fox nutters at times. They camo better then some think though finding all the shadowy spots to hunker down in. Ed

Thanks, folks.
A high percentage of black phase around here. The Greys are definitely more nervous than the Fox squirrels. We have those here, too. Not as plentiful this year.
Black is harder to spot against a trunk or big limb. But, I find that if I play statue long enough they will get the itch to go back to food gathering eventually and give themselves away.

Her recipe was originally from scratch, but I had the Missus get it on record. Will try to find it and put it out there. Maybe send it in PMs. My kids ask for it. Anyone I offer samples to at work or wherever give it positive reviews. That recipe works with chicken/turkey as well.

Ok now I need to get out and bag some nutters. ;) More great shooting and pics and the Phase black nutters have been on my "add to my nutter tail collection" and just another reason here to get after em. Ed

I'm searching, I'm searching :-[ It's just that hunting keeps getting in the way ;D

Nice shooting and that pie looks Soooooo good!!! :P :D

Here's a pic of her recipe. I went and posted it on the Wild Game Prep and Recipes Gate as well.
Hopefully this works for people. If not, we'll have to type it all out. And "2-3 squirrel parts", I think she meant 2-3 squirrels cut up. I like plenty of meat, so 3 squirrels per pie floats my boat.
