Title: Crosman 397 PA Valve assy rebuild
Post by: Mr. Panther on October 15, 2015, 12:38:22 PM
I rebuilt my old 397 PA 's Valve assembly. last night after it was leaking air out of the barrel on each pump. I guess you couldn't call it a rebuild, more like a clean up. I found it had accumulated some dust in the exhaust valve assembly. and needed to be cleaned out good. After that it actually had more power than before the problem started. I want to thank all the people on here that helped me diagnose the problem with it, and for good measure today I ordered a complete kit to rebuild it and an additional valve assembly. from Crosman. The people at Crosman were very helpful and courteous and made it a pleasure to do business with them, (also the parts were much less expensive than after market).  Now I am covered if my 392 goes down due to the same problems or I blow an O ring I will have replacements. All the links provided on here by other members really helped in doing what I thought would be a task, into an enjoyable bit of tinkering. Thanks to all!!

I need to order a couple valve assemblies myself. What is the current price on these now?

Last time I looked, there was a full parts list somewhere on the Crosman site. It's been about a year. Replacement parts are very affordable from them if you need to rebuild or want to tinker with some different valve setups.

Edit: just looked on their site, can no longer order parts online. You need to find the parts diagram on the Crosman site, then call their customer service to order. The number is (800)-7AIRGUN.

I believe the whole assembly was $14.85. It might be a little mmor eor less but it was less than $15.00.
