Hi guys this is the double cavity .30 cal pellet mold that is getting shipped to Robert Chou in CA tomorrow . I though Id post photos for the forum to enjoy
-
those look really nice. Anxious to see a shot group... Nice job.
-
Me too! They do look the bees knees!!!
-
Very nice!.... Hope they shoot as good as they look!....

How big is the head size? Given the 30 pellet barrels I have seen from TJ comming in at .3015" groove, it would not offend me to see a .301-.302 head.
cheers,
Douglas
-
Douglas, the head was spec'd at 0.300".... If you have been following QVTom's results, he was getting stellar accuracy from JSBs in a .308 cal barrel, so I wouldn't be the least concerned about your 0.302" bore.... Tom says the head was basically "bore-riding" with barely noticeable rifling marks, while the skirt sealed just fine in the oversize barrel.... I know, it makes no sense to me, either, but there was also a guy shooting .25 cal Kings in a .257 and claimed similar results.... Go figure !!!

guys I,m just as excited to see how they shoot sadly I don't own a 30 cal airgun to test them out but with some luck the new owner Robert Chou of CA once he gets his hands on it will be able to share with us . the mold is getting shipped first thing in the morning via DHL
I did cast some pellets just for the photos must say there were no hang ups in the mold even with the deep insert
I,m sure they will work well Bob who designed the pellet is well know for his fine work
-
Question???
When casting these pellets are they done with pure lead or is there a Mix?
-
You should use pure lead with not more than 2.5% tin (40:1).... Anything in between should be fine.... The tin improves the fill out of the mold without needing such a high temperature, and keeps the pellets shiny instead of going dull grey right away.... but if you have pure lead, use it !!!

With the impending arrival of a 30 cal to shoot them in, I am *MOST* curious also.

I do really like the FN shape at the tip of those. The pellets have a look that i most welcome and feel is needed.
They look to have more impact THUMP than the typical dome pellet.
AWESOME!
Now if someone would just start flooding these pages with groups from all the varying calibers coming from Jeremy
-
Guys here is the round nose 30 cal version
-
would it be possible to get 1 mold with both FN and RN pellets?
