This morning I took the NP2 Nitro Venom outside to shoot, just to try the new trigger. The only fly in the ointment so far is the lack of an anti beartrap function. I connected the spring and linkage - there are connection points on the new trigger pack. It does not prevent the trigger from pulling however, like the old pack did.
This is not a great concern for me as I only have one other gun with this feature in the first place. I may look at it next time I have the gun apart. I just thought I'd mention it for those who expect the feature to work as before.
With the spring change it has a smooth pull with just the right amount of resistance for me. You can barely feel the second stage before it fires. That's fine, too. I will play with the lone adjustment screw to see exactly what it does for me.
I will say it's an improvement over the original trigger pack even with the GRT III installed. I suppose the next logical step is to see what improvement the CBR from charliedatuna.com would make. The GRT III sure tamed the original trigger.
