Title: CZ 200S FS
Post by: Josan on October 10, 2015, 03:55:45 PM
This rifle is made in the Czech republic and is almost identical to the Air Arms S200. They are light (2.8 kg unscoped), short (90 cm) and very accurate rifles.

This one is in 4,5mm and shoots JSB Exacts at 238 m/s which is 15,5J or 11,5 fpe. Just got it yesterday. Quality is very good and i think it's a magnificent looking rifle. Thought about buying a BSA Goldstar SE, but i am glad i bought this one at less than 1/3 of the price (360 euro).
I ordered low mounts because this scope is still a bit to high above the barrel. Furthermore the trigger needed some adjustment. Otherwise no work needed to be done.

Concerning accuracy.........I have a red laminated stock version purchased several
years ago......... quarter inch five shot groups at 30 yards are the norm. And luckily,
mine likes the cheap 7.9 grain Crosman ammo from Wallyworld.
From what I have read, this seems to be typical performance.

I'll report back when i've figured out the right batch of pellet and have had some rangetime with it. A few fast shots at 10m with a random batch of JSB Exact 4.52 gave a single hole grroup.

CZ hammer forged barrels are good ones. CZ makes the AA S200s. Goldstar is a nice rifle but the price is a bit too high IMO. The regulator could also use some work according to one UK tuner who used HUMA reg instead.

I have one also with a red laminate stock. It's my favorite air rifle and my second most accurate rifle coming in behind my TM 1000. I once shot a 41 pellet group at 17 yds in less than a 1/4" hole CTC. It loves the JSB 8.44 gr pellets.

I mounted a different scope. It's the Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 AO. It has very good coatings and fits the rifle well. Zeroed it with a couple of shots and was flipping HFT targets consistantly between 8-43 meters within minutes. Promising. Haven't even put effort in selecting an accurate pelletbatch. :)
The power was a little high, so i turned the power adjustment screw in about 2 turns to get it to shoot 244 m/s with JSB Exact.
It's usable power curve for HFT is between 160-100 BAR in which it has a 8 m/s spread from 236 at 160 and 100 to 244 at around 130 BAR. It will give 45 shots over that range, which is sufficient for a standard 40 target match.

It's pretty loud for urban backyard shooting, so to shoot the shotstring i added a (*^% which quiets it down considerably. Because i will be shooting it mainly at the range i will proibably leave the (*^% of most of the time. I think it looks nicer with the standard muzzle break.  :)
