Word is out the NP2 trigger pack is a direct replacement for the NP trigger pack. That's not quite true. You may readily put the older NP trigger pack into an NP2 rifle. It will fit and it will work.
The sear on the NP2 trigger pack is about 0.020" thicker than the older NP trigger pack. It may swap directly into some NP guns but not all. Some modification may need to be made.
Based on another member's encouragement I purchased an NP2 trigger for my old Nitro Venom. It ALMOST fits!! I think I purchased another project.
If you decide to try the swap beware, there is a reason Crosman ships the trigger pack with the sear retained by a tie wrap.
It's all about the experience, right?

Will the gold trigger fit in the NP2?

There is a charliedatuna trigger replacement for the NP2 pack. The older NP back accepted the GRT III. The NP2 pack takes the CBR trigger. I have been told the CBR swap includes a milder trigger spring. The original is pretty stiff.
The two triggers are not the same.

The CBR and GRT III are not interchangeable.
The CBR fits the NP2 trigger assembly, and lacks the gold colour plating.
The GRT III is gold coloured, and fits the NP XL and NV trigger assemblies (plus others).
Looking at the NP XL and NP2 trigger assemblies (without the tie wrap I had a good look ...), it seems that Crosman heard the message CDT was sending, and made the NP2 trigger blade very similar to the GRT blade.
However, in designing the NP2 trigger assembly, Crosman changed the spring configurations and form functions considerably, so the GRT III blade does not fit the NP2 trigger assembly.

Thanks fellows!
