It was a long drive from Virginia to Mesa Arizona, (33 hrs and 2300 miles ONE WAY to be exact.! :o ) but it was one of the best weekends I have ever experienced. First of all, the guys at AOA are top notch and put on an AMAZING event. Food, staff, facility, accommodations.... EVERYTHING was over the top! Great job AOA, and all who were involved in this event!!!
Let me share some of our experiences with you guys. The first day we are there we meet Rossi Morreale, the host of American Airgunner. He was the coolest dude ever! We will get to hang out with him later...! Also on the 1st day, we had the honor of meeting and hanging out with Tom Costan and Doug Noble. HOW AWESOME IS THAT! That night Chris and I met Jim Chapman and Travis Cuppy from Air Gun Source, for dinner and a few hours of airgun discussion. It was an amazing time!
2nd day at the range we got to hang out for a while with Kip Perow and Robert Buchanan(president of AOA) and boy did we have a blast! Kip and Robert both shot our guns and during this time Chris Alls was shooting the Whiteout at a turkey steel silhouette at 430 yds. After he hit it with the Whiteout, Robert spoke up and bet us a steak dinner that Chris could not hit it with the Bushbuck(AOA big bore).... 2 shots later he owed us that steak dinner!! ;D That night we found ourselves at a table at the Las Sendas resort with the some of the most prominent names in the industry.... Robert Buchanan(AOA), Kip Perow(AOA), Tony Belas(DAYSTATE), Andrew Hugget(HUGGET MODERATORS), Ross Marshall(MILBORO SPORTS) Rossi Morreale(AMERICAN AIRGUNNER), and a few others... What an experience!
The next day was the Big Bore competition and the banquet. We sat at the table with Tom Costan, Doug Noble, Nick Nielson and his son, among others. At the awards banquet, Tom won the new FX IMPACT in 30 cal and Chris won a Brocock 22 cal. One of the big highlights for me was when I was joking with Tom about bringing the SLAYER home with me and his reply was GO AHEAD AND TAKE IT FOR A FEW WEEKS!!!! 8) SO...... I HAVE A SLAYER FOR A FEW WEEKS, AND I AM STOKED ABOUT IT!!!!!! ;D
Here are some pics of our trip.
