anybody got one? how has it held up?
i got one a few weeks ago for $32.50, on clearance.... it doesn't seem to be a big seller here, but i thought it was worth a try.... it took about 100 shots to stop dieseling, mostly.... not too tight of groups yet, but i've only shot it two handed, free-hand.....
what's you experience on the best hold for the trail NP pistol? anything else i should know?
thanks,
rob

Can't answer your question, but that is a great deal! How do you like it so far?
-
Crosman says not to use normal pellgun oil on it. They have a special lube for the nitro pistons, idk why and maybe it's bs, but that's just what I saw on their site. Maybe that's why my piston broke.... or could be that it got dry fired, once again, not sure... all I know is that it developed a rattle inside the piston and other noises too.

I bought mine when they first came out. Have tried many different pellets and none of them group. Its mainly just a fun plinker for me

That was a great deal. The stores here still have them at the regular price.
Interesting that they suggest a different oil. Would be nice if they would say why. Unless the seals are different how would changing from a spring to a gas piston change the lube requirements?
-
Any spring piston, nitro or not, calls for silicone oil. Not Pelligun oil. But as we all know oiling will make it diesel again. I bought Crosmans silicone oil with my nitro piston Dusk and it is still sealed and never used. And probably never will be used

Mine is fairly accurate at ten yards(1 inch groups). I can it a can at 20 yards about 5 out of 10 times. Mine only shot at 300 fps until I shimmed the breech seal and now it shoots at 500 fps with a 7.9 gr. pellet. I have accidentally dry fired mine a few times and it is still shooting fine. I really like it.

I use mine for off hand plinking, no sights. I could not get the rear sight high enough, and couldn't effectively mount a red dot or peep sight.
I did however give mine a thorough deburr, new seal, and lube tune. Shoots CPHP about 500 fps, but groups about 2" at 15 yrd.
It is what it is ....

My thoughts are that it looks pretty tempting hanging on the shelf for $70. And the break barrel makes it less work to send lead down range than my 1377.
But, I've read that the sights are terrible and can't be used.
