I have just seen the Retay brand has landed in New Zealand. Only one dealer seems to have them so far. Boy they look different and I like them. The red anodised looks a cracker as does the Camo. Hmm price of $599 for a Turkish gun is getting close to German Airgun prices though. Seems they have been around elsewhere for a while so what's the lowdown on these? Seems there are some good reports, any long term reviews available?
Thanks in advance.

Retay has never been available in the USA. I'm told by their marketing manager that this is changing VERY soon. We were able to get a handful of them in here back in 2011 to play with. Excellent quality compared to other Turkish products we have seen. They are available to our North in Canada. But have not heard much chatter from our Canadian brothers and sisters about Retay. Hopefully this will change soon.
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!

My searches on this very forum lead me to stumble across them. What a beautiful rifle! I would love a chance to own a blue underlever version. To bad they aren't here yet, I imagine sales would jump a considerable amount for them.

Thanks guys for all your replies. I have today placed a deposit on the last sport red .22 'Troy ' left in the store. There are no more on order at this moment in time. Jeez I still get a buzz from buying an Airgun, but this one I feel is a little special..something about it : )
Cheers

Please do review it when you get it. Too bad we in the USA have not yet had our chance to buy them.

Although they MAY have changed some, Gene did full great reviews of them. Take a look in the Review Gate or do an advanced search of Retay with user name gene_sc.

Hate to say it but that stock looks like garbage.... the idea of anodizing the receiver a different colour is a cool idea, just makes it more toyish if you ask me...
-
Well, all I can say is you need to shoulder one of these. I have the 135X Sniper model. I also got my hands on a spare stock that I modified and adapted to a Gen1 MRod. I will say it's one of the most comfortable stocks and natural positioning stock I've ever handled. A few folks here have seen and handled my Retay MRod and can testify to that.

It has a rubberized finish that feels great. And I think handles bumps and knocks better too.

Thanks ezman604 yes I took a look at Gene's review and nice pics. Well there are plenty of positive comments on here so I feel I've made a good choice, and that splash of bling red should brighten up the gun safe ;-) I remember when CZ Slavia put coloured inserts on there springers there sales at my local gun shop went crazy, nice to see something outside the square.
I will post back when I've planted a Hawke 3-9*40 on her. Should be very interesting.
Later guys
Cheers.

i would sooner buy an Benjamin np trail. Had one for a day and returned it . Crunchy cocking, didnt like the feel of the stock (texture) scratched too easily , rated at 1000 fps actual 700 fps . The list is longer but the rest is just being picky. I would buy a higher end Hatsan Springer before a retay . Mine was the 135x.

Hobbyman 2007…thanks for your comments. I bought a new Gamo Shadow 1000 barricade two years ago. Out of the box it was terribly crunchy and I was concerned. I stuck with it and after 100 or so shots it cocked as smoothly as a gas ram and was one of the most powerful Airguns I have owned. As I was shooting it I could tell it was all meshing together so I think perhaps you didn't give the Retay enough time to settle down. Sounds like you didn't like it in general but each to his own. Cheers.
