Title: Hunting Pellets day
Post by: Deckard1973 on September 26, 2015, 10:30:52 AM
Got a chance to shoot some hunting pellets I have on hand.
Shot 7 to 10 pellets to dial the scope in for that pellet.
Then pumped the M-Rod back up to 3k psi.
Shot at 30yrds off a bi-pod, 5 shots for record.

The Baracuda extremes do well for me too.

You might even try the Baracuda Match @ 21.3g. Seems the lighter pellets might be flying too fast? Even though, the Extremes look pretty good @ 30yds, they're limited to 70-75 max. But if you don't shoot out that far, then why bother?

My M-Rod shoots pellets with a 5.52 head the best.
But I wanted to see how hunting pellets performed.
For rat control, most targets of opportunity are 30yrds or less.  I have had very good results with the Crow magnum in the past.

I did a test with the RWS line a week ago:  Superdome, Super H-Point, and Hobby.
The groupings were so bad was not even worth posting.

Next up, I need to get some JSB RS, 13.43grn in the 5.52 head and see how they do.  Like to take those out to the 100yrd line.  See how they do compared to the JSB Heavies 18.13 and H&N Baracuda Match in the 21.14.

Thank you!
Figure I would share my results.
Of course, your rifle may perform differently.

After shooting two hundred of each pellet through my new Gamo Bone Collector (.22), I found that the H&N Crow Magnum has an edge over the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme.
