Congratulations.  630 fps sounds right for a 300S with new spring, buffer, and breech seal.  That's where mine was shooting after having a new spring and internals "fixed up".

Put the macarri artic spring in my 300s and it shoots jsb 7.33 at 669.9avg. It shot 624 with the dual factory springs. Love that rifle.

hey guys did you ever shoot them at say 30 yds or further? if so how was accuracy? guess you would have to use domed pellets

The Feinwerkbau 300 series rifles are sweet!  I have a 300S "mini" that I put a Maccari spring into.  I did gain a little velocity and JSB 7.3 went from about 630fps to 670fps or so.  Cocking force was maybe very slightly higher, but the rifle functions just as smoothly as before.  I regularly shoot mine at 22yards off my back porch and in still air easily shoot groups of 5 under a dime and most are a cloverleaf and some better.  Once I get to 25-30 yards and farther off my shooting sticks, I find I'll often get several pellets in the same hole, but even a little wind will start to toss my relatively slow, light weight pellets around.  I've shot it at 44 yards a few times and managed 3-4 into roughly the same hole, but then a movement in the wind will throw 1-2 quite a ways away.  At that range too, I really have to start aiming a lot higher since pellet drop really starts to become very noticeable.

Overall, out to 30 yards or so for me, this rifle is extremely accurate and incredibly fun to shoot.  A scope with aiming points to help judge drop and good wind-doping skills would make longer distances possible.  I use a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 duplex scope on mine by the way.  Its around 12" and I can still load the pellet with only a minimal amount of fiddling around.

Thanks a lot Cal that is just what I thought would happen if went to extended range. then I see a guy on you tube at 100 meters knock 3 cans off a bench with the FWB 300. he had to lob the pellets in. took him about 10 shots but that is incredible

Mine shot 8.44 grain JSB Exact 4.50 and 4.51mm pellets best.  They had a better SD than the Express pellets.  The results were excellent out to 30 yards.

My shooting buddy shoots his at 30 and 50 yards. Scoped with 7.33 jsbs and no wind it shoots under .5 in five shot groups easily. The 300s is really fun to shoot. I shoot mine indoors at 38 ft. I shoot at 1.5 mm targets. When I do my part it easy.

My rebuilt 300SL from the big Pilkingtons sale will stack the 7.3 JSB pellets at 25 yards with boring repetition.  It got equipped with the Maccari Arctic spring and new seals.

It shoots harder than my factory stock 300SU just judging by the feel of the shot cycle, and the thwack on the back stop.

It's a BS4; a clone of the 300s if I'm not mistaken.  It's actually not a bad clone- The fit and finish could be better, but FWB parts do fit, and so do Maccari springs.  I'm not complaining!   ;D  Except about the last missing piece I need, of course!   ::) :'(

EDIT:  if you link from photobucket, you don't have to worry about picture size.  I might be mistaken though.

Started shooting my FWB 300S out to 55 yards on field targets for fun with a 6.5-20x44mm Swift AO scope. When there is no or little wind, I have no problems knocking down the field target (Crosman Zombie with 1.575" diameter kill zone) 8 out of 10 times sitting on my bum bag shooting off my knee. My FWB 300S is shooting 675 fps with AADF 8.4 grain pellets. The trigger is set to 5 ounces.

Love shooting my FWB 300S but hate paint job that the previous owner did to it.

675 fps is very fast for the 300. Did you put an Arctic spring in it?

I bought it used and the previous owner installed a replacement spring in it. I do not know if it is an Arctic spring. It may be an Arctic spring.

Shooting at that FPS, I would bet a dollar to a stale donut that it has a Maccari arctic spring in it. It may even be spaced for a bit more preload, as that is running strong with 8.4s in it.
Usually you have to run 7.3 or 7.8s to get the 300 running that hot. You may have gotten a special 'Muy Caliente' spring!!
