Got it at a local market, everything is in tact, zero separation and the wood and finish is really nice. Thought I might be able to play with it, but it won't hold more than one pump :-\

Looks good, should be fun to rebuild and get shooting again.

Nice find. IIRC, they are "steroidable".

I look for these a lot at shows and never come across one in tact with all original parts, most are carved up wrecks with missing or broken parts. It will probably sit a while before I get to it too many projects.

Sweet!

Gotta be '78> Racine to be 'steroidable'.

Looking good. Looks to have been refinished a while back.

I think it may have had the wood freshened up, somebody took care of this, there are no dings in the wood or metal. I also think it may have been resealed somewhere along it's life, I peeked at the internals and they look pretty new. The gun pumps, and will actually hold some pressure for 24 hrs. just not enough, I can hear it bleed air out while pumping. I ordered a seal kit for it, I re-did my 397 and it was a snap, these don't look that easy. If I can get the valve out, I'll have it up and working, if not it may sit on a shelf for another few years as a project :D

312 Update: I purchased the kit from PA with the tool to reseal the gun, as an afterthought, I realized none of the parts would work (it's for a 397). Pulled the gun apart to get the feel of rebuilding it, strange thing is some of the parts looked new, and it disassembled very easy. After inspecting the parts I looked in the chamber, and the previous owner left the old check valve in with a new one. Took the extra valve out, re-assembled it and it works great, very loud at 8 pumps! and pretty powerful. I did not re-install the lead seals, used the plastic one from the 397 kit (we'll see how it works). It will be a nice Friday night to shoot the 312 in the basement ;D
