Title: Hatsan 25 Supercharger Vortex 177 Supertact
Post by: bandg on September 05, 2015, 08:13:05 PM
Just got one of these a few days ago-very accurate out of the box but the trigger was a bit too heavy for my taste and had quite a bit of creep present.  I disassembled and cleaned the trigger group, put a lighter main sear spring in (may be a little too light now), removed some material from sear bar to lessen travel, and polished all sear contact areas.  I don't have a trigger pull gauge but it is much lighter, has no creep, and breaks very cleanly.  10 yard offhand groups with factory open sites could be covered with a quarter most of the time.  One could probably accomplish the same reduction in travel by drilling adjustment screw holes slightly deeper on trigger surface or getting longer adjustment screws but in any event it is a VERY easy airgun to work on.  Thanks to Jeff aka Privateer for pictures of trigger group parts/position-very helpful.  As noted in his post, watch for the safety ball and spring when you remove the safety slider as they are easily lost.  Oh yeah, took a coil off of the safety detent spring as well and it is much easier to engage/disengage but remains positively in place.  I'll get some chronograph numbers for it soon-I'm curious how it compares to spring piston velocity but I like the idea of being able to leave it cocked for longer periods.

I have the same except mine is NOT a Vortex . The trigger on mine adjusted to suite my taste well.  It will probably get even better when it is shot more. Hatsan Vortex pellets were pretty accurate & chronied at 685 fps . A variety of other heavier pellets went down to 550fps. I need a lot more experience shooting a springer, since Sheridans have spoiled me for years. There is a little " wobble " with the stock attached that ruins its accuracy, unless you figure out how to hold it. I hold mine fairly firm against my shoulder with the barrel just laying in my open hand, which has slight upwards  pressure to take out the vertical wobble of the stock. I can shoot it fairly accurate that way, but I need more practice.
Best of luck with yours !

bandg,

Glad the images I posted helped you out.
 :D

The one I worked on and sent back to the owner was putting .22's out in the 500 FPS range.
It convinced me to get a Supertact at some point in time.

Bandg I have the Supercharger Vortex also and was able to adjust my trigger to acceptable pull without taking apart. Mine too is very accurate and is my goto yard gun for Chippers and such. It's fav pellet is the Crosman 7.4 field hunting pellets.

My last notes show the CPHP's doing 523 FPS average for the .22
I did button the piston and size the piston seal along with shimming the spring to remove any slack.
