Title: I Have A Problem....Bug O Salt
Post by: HunterOne on August 29, 2015, 06:51:37 PM
The first step is to admit that you have a problem is what my wife told me :)

I just had to have it.  This thing uses air power to spray a medium velocity pattern of table salt at flys, ending them quickly without any splatter.  She thinks I've gone too far now.   ;D

Look forward to videos of flies being salt blasted in slow motion.

I got one of those not long back.
They are great fun! Try Kosher Salt as ammo.

My prairie dog/Antelope shooting partner in Kansas was one of the first investors in the Bug-a-Salt company and bought 50 of them.

He sent me one.

I patterned it with aluminum foil and found that sea salt had the best patern at 2-3 feet!

Shot this guy last year:

This thing is a BLAST!!
Wife was concerned about the salt at first.
But We put a bit of salt down to help keep flees down anyway.
(Dehydrates them)
I've found Kosher and a short barrel extension gives a good kill range and pattern.
The 2.0 also has the redesigned safety so you can quick pump and fire.

My Gen 1 version safety never has auto set ... manually you can set it tho.
Pump and squeeze trigger easy.

Huh .. Version 2 ???

Huh .. Version 2 ???
Standard way to sell more Units.
New and Improved!!
Version 3 is in the design and testing phase.
It will take rock salt and grind it to your preselected choice.
Table, Kosher, or Sea Salt.

Geez!  What that one go, 1 grain?  Biggest I have ever seen.  Did you do a full mount or European?  LOL!

By the way BarnyDaddy, I can come out and help you bust some of those Dawgs...just saying.

They need to introduce a wasp o salt.

That would be great if they did.
I hope it's a repeater because you might need a follow up shot for wasps and hornets

I'd need more than any repeater! It'd have to be full-auto if I was going to be shooting at hornets!

Be careful though.
There will be some who will hope to regulate it and see if it can shoot out beyond 100 yards.

I have a recipe for the flies it takes, you need about 150 of them to make a filling meal but the nice part is you don't have to add SALT.   :-\

I for one plan to regulate, add power mods, switch the caliber to shoot rock salt, shroud it and get 200 yards.  Add some railing for night time skeeter fun.

But that's just me...;)

Think we can convince rsterne to attempt a bottle-fed pcp conversion? ;D
Wonder if TKO would make a shroud for it?  I'm thinking a 5" should be sufficient.
Maybe a bottle fed 1800psi, regged, shrouded, with a rock salt conversion should be sufficient.  Toss a Boyd's Blaster on there and it should be GTG.
Oh, can't forget a Burris Eliminator!  Gotta have that built-in rangefinder and trajectory compensation.

Don't forget the built-in laser range finder and Jarvis voice program.
