Title: Hatsan .25 cal bullpup?
Post by: hotshot on August 28, 2015, 08:10:37 PM
Don't know if this will ever come to fruition, but I managed to glean a couple of stills from a recent Hatsan promo video on Youtube which appears to show them making an FX style .25 PCP bullpup with a mid-body side lever action.

It certainly would be lots of fun if it ever materialises....

Looks nice, and it has a cheekpiece.

After looking at the pictures more closely it might in fact be a .25, but I'm sure they could scale it up if needs be.

The cheekpiece appears to be a clip-on type from their shotgun range. I've seen them advertised separately as accessories on ebay.

10/10 would operate with.

The video shows many guns that are not available in the states, I wonder why? For example there was an at44w-10 with the qe shroud, but it looked like a slimmer shroud.

I have an AT44W-10 with a screw-on hush tube so I'm not much bothered about shrouds and stuff. Also I don't live in the US so what is or isn't available there doesn't affect me much either.

But I really would like a factory-made Hatsan side-lever bullpup. With a walnut stock and some nice gold trim bits. Is that really too much to ask?  :-*

They should make a new breech where barrel sits higher. Right now there's no room for a shroud system above airtube.

They already have their QE shroud system so I don't think thats a major concern for them. But a breech riser would allow for the use of a larger reservoir without adding any length. This would have a lot of benefits.

It should be, you can't make a quiet gun without big diameter shroud. As an example it takes a 27mm diameter well designed shroud to match commercial HW lead dust collector in sound level. The benefit is that  the shroud can be 2" shorter than the LDC in front of the gun.

Looks like they incorporated  the Galatian side lever into the design...

Hatsan is know for listening to the wants and needs of the air gun community, trying to ditch the side bolt and replace it with the best side lever that they have which is found on the Galatian. Looking good!

Looks to have an overall length of around 30 inches and would be significantly lighter than a standard BT65 because of the much smaller stock.

I really hope that they decide to bring it to market because I want one already.  8)

Steve it is coming, they have exhausted the platform, this is yet another direction to go that is very welcome. Again building on the same platform but making is better with the side lever that I have been emailing about ;D

I was seriously thinking about a .30 carnivore, but now I'm going to sit still and watch this one. Looks very promising.
