I build a prod clone for HFT at 12fpe but since the closest FT place is now closed I thought I would see what I could get out of it. It has a stock disco valve in it. I will be taking it out and doing some mod's just for better flow not necessarily for power. First I changed the TP from .089 to .136 and changed the spring from a 13xx to a Disco. I put 3 turns of preload on the disco spring. With a 2000psi fill.

A straight downward drop in fps.
I then did a 2000psi fill with no preload.

I can go all the way to 3000psi but would rather stay at the lower psi if I can. The pistol before I changed it was getting a nice flat 32 shots at 600fps on a 200psi fill. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

3 orings in front of the hammer, or a regulator.
-
It sounds like your Prod clone is a cut down version of a disco. How about some pictures? :)

Sorry, didn't mean to insult with the "cut down" disco comment. That is quite some work you did, especially the breech. .

Great looking pistol you built there Ricky B, you definately have talent.

What size orings do you use?

No problem. It pretty much is a sawed off disco.

Typically all the 22XX thru p-rod ilk use 113's
-
Why 113's? Seems they would just fall around inside being they are only .566 on the od. Wouldn't a 116 be better at .754 od. The same as the id of the tube.
-
I'm guessing you glanced at the wrong dimension. The OD of a -113 is nominally 3/4", same size as a P-rod or 1720 air tube.

That's what has been passed along...

Dah yeah I was looking at 013. I'll get some from work tomorrow.

Well I did the normal valve mods. Undercut valve stem, angled and opened up the exhaust port. I drill the front half with a .272 drill then bored it out at a 4° angle then polished it with some Mothers polish. I also worked on the barrel, after looking at it with a bore scope there was no leade in,just a undercut for the oring with a straight shoulder. Chucked it up and cut a 1° angle for a leade in. Opened up the TP and barrel to .160. I got some 113 orings to install behind the valve. Now just need to reassemble.

I reassembled the gun yesterday. I measured how much travel the hammer has now with 3 113 orings behind the valve. It travels .040" before hitting the orings. I just did a shot string and it may need another oring.

Well I got to test accuracy today to see if the barrel work did any improvements. I was shooting off a bag at 30yds. The pistol has a 4X power Winchester rifle scope mounted on it. I never got groups like this before. 10 shots with one flyer. 9 of them you can cover with a quarter.

Pretty good shooting there, your mods seem to be working.
-
Made a extended probe bolt for it. I did some more testing but at 50yds this time.

Shot to the left lower was sight in. I moved up 8 clicks and over 6. There are 10 shots in this group using CPHP's. About a 1 3/4 inch spread.
