I was shooting my P-rod the other day in the backyard range.  I went through about 10 clips worth of predator pellets.  I finally put the P-rod away though cause I just got bored watching all those predators flying into the same ragged hole in the center of the target  :)

I'm looking forward to using it at the duck farm  on some of the younger, smaller woodchucks if I can sneak within closer range of them.  I figure  head shots with the predators at 20 yards and under should do nicely  :)

Mine is very accurate and quiet with the extended shroud.

Jeff, what was the distance you were shooting and what scope are you using on your pistol?  Very, very, very interested minds want to know!!LOL!  Anything you would tell a soon-to-be new owner about the Marauder Pistol?

That sounds great, tell us more, JimmyBobby!

joe

PS. Can you guys tell I'm excited about something???

Joe, I was shooting at 30 yards.  As for the scope I'm using a Leapers 3x9x32 AO mounted with 2 piece Accushot mounts.  I love those scopes and have quite a few of them and it seems to fit very nicely on the P-rod.  You're going to love your pistol. I'm excited for ya buddy :)

I really like mine, I use her as a pistol and she does what I need her to do.

Mainly shoot the Crow Magnums out of her, but she likes most pellets I tryed, Baracudas best

Let's see:
Leapers 3-9x32 AO
Predators, Crow Magnums and Barracudas

What about CP Ultramags, hollowpoints and other inexpensive pellets?  I'm out of preds but still have Crowmags and Barracudas.

Manny, I saw that original post about the rooster and your pistol.  Beautiful stocks by the way.

Jimbob, where did you get the shroud extension?  I bet it is silent now.

Jeff, I'll have to check and see which scope I have that is available.

Is my excitement showing?  I just turned down an offer to go fishing tomorrow to stay home to do yard-work and wait on the Fedex man!

You've got it bad brother  :)  LOL

My P-rod likes Predators, FTS, Kodiaks and a couple of other pellets.  Hope you got lots of air and lots of pellets cause you're gonna really like this shooter  :)

Yes, I do!
I've got plenty of pellets in the pell box and just got the big tank refilled so I'm ready.  Everybody come on over to my house tomorrow evening, we may have something new to shoot!  ;D ;D ;D  Just turn in at the mailbox!

Mine shoots the 14.3 CP Ultra Mag real well too,  I'm just more about the heavier pellets :)

Thanks Manny, I'll try the cp ultramags first.

Jimbob, thanks for the link.  I checked it out and it looks good.  I think I like the slightly longer look for the carbine platform and the additional volume helps I'm sure.

So it looks like I am not the only one getting a new shooter around tax refunds time... ;D
I hope it's everything you have heard it would be. It was fun in the chat when my "brothers" helped me make the decision to pull the trigger on the .22 Indy. They were very supportive as any enablers I have ever met!! I don't remember you talking about getting a P-Rod. You must have been keeping close to the vest. Well good luck buddy. I got my Pelican case today for the Indy and the pellet trap arrived as well. I've got it loaded with twenty lbs of duct seal to take the 30 fpe that the Independence is supposed to shoot. Congrats on your new ag!

Brett, I didn't want to say anything until the deed was done.  I came in from work Monday night worn completely out and kind of out of sorts, too!  I've been saving up for one lately and almost had the amount needed when my dear wife said I could get the extra from the family account for Valentine's Day.  Whoohoo, then I find out they are out of stock.  Then they bump the 'in stock' date up another week.  I come home beat Monday night and what do I find?  PA has them in stock again.  Well, there's nothing that will make you feel better than buying yourself something you've been saving for.  Tomorrow's the day.

Manny, I think the size of the pistol coupled with what everyone was saying about the power and accuracy is what swayed me.  It is the perfect size to carry along with you when you may be after something else.  I'm thinking it may make the perfect deerstand squirrel gun.  Anybody who's ever deer hunted knows the squirrels come out of nowhere to visit you while you're trying to hunt deer.  Now, the revenge on the little bushytailed bums may start this fall.  Let us know how it goes with the hog hunt.

Congrats on the new "child". Lol. yea never really considered the deer stand option, but that would be awesome. they come out of nowhere to bug the living s#!% outta me. and when i get in my stand with a rimfire just to shoot tree rats they are no where to be found. Next fall i'm gonna slay'em quietly. Lol Good luck on the short rod. i'm sure you'll love it.

PS Love the mail box. That is awesome!

PSS We will be expecting the FULL report with pics, targets, personal impressions. The Works.
Title: Yeehaw! Guess what just came a few minutes ago?!?
Post by: jonnnyboy on March 04, 2011, 05:58:49 PM
 ;D ;D ;D
Well the FedEx girl came just a few minutes ago and brought me a nice box from PA with my new Marauder Pistol in it.  The girl smiled and handed me my package, offered her e-clipboard for signature and as I was trying to turn and run back into the house with my goody, she asked, "Do you remember me?"  Oh shoot!!  I turned and looked at her while holding my 'precious' and realized that indeed I knew her.  When she was a teenager, she was in our youth group at church.  It was really nice to stand there and reminisce with her and I wished her blessings as she left.  WHEW, I've got to get inside.!

Now, where's my knife to open this box.  No dings on the outside of the box and the inside box looks pristine.  I open it up and there is my brand new pistol.  The bluing is nice and dark and I can't find a scratch anywhere.  It looks like perfect packing and FedEx did a good job of delivering, though I've been waiting since about 700am this morning since their tracking said it was out for delivery and I just got it at 245pm.   :-\

Now to find some glass, fast.  Rummaging through everything, I decided to rob the B40 of her Leapers 3-9X32AO with med/hi rings and it fit perfectly.  There's not much cheekweld on the carbine stock but I think with a little pipe insulation on that top rail, it will begin to feel right.

She arrived with no air at all (maybe good, maybe not if leaky) and I filled her first time to 2500.  I had already laid out a tin of CP Ultra mags so I filled the mag and it slipped solidly into place.  Jeff warned me that I would need lots of pellets and air and he was right.  Those first 8 shots were gone so quick I am not sure I shot them all but when I looked the mag was empty! :D

Of course, its starting to rain so my review will have to wait but I was able to get about 10 mags worth through before it really started to rain too hard.  By the end, my cpum's were going into about a nickel regularly at 25 yards.  Boys, this is looking good.

More to come.
