I have tried...
H&N Field Target .22 Cal, 16.36 Grains, Domed
H&N Baracuda .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains, Round Nose
RWS Superdome .22 Cal, 14.5 Grains, Domed
JSB Match Exact Jumbo Diabolo .22 Cal, 15.89 Grains, Domed
JSB Match Exact Jumbo Diabolo .22, 14.3 Grains
Without a doubt, the most consistently accurate for me is the JSB 15.89 grain. Thanks everyone for the help in selecting different pellets to try!
I think it is interesting that the H&N 21.14 grain pellets consistently shoot high out of my gun, and most other pellets seem to mostly hit to the left. The JSB 15.89 pellets are consistently dead center, with a rare flyer.
On another note, todays testing killed the Optima scope that came with my gun. The reticle rotated counterclockwise. Then I also noticed that the non-adjustable objective bell was completely loose and turning freely. Does that effect the reticle? Is the scope no longer "sealed"? Should I bother asking for a replacement under warranty? I still haven't ordered a new scope yet.

Yes and Yes .... Get scope replaced N/C and save it or use it elsewhere.
Yes REPLACE scope with a better unit for that rifle.
Hawke Panorama EV AO scopes are really nice for the +/- $200 range. * Use the 4-12x50's myself

Hey Riverdrifter,
At least get yourself a 3x9x40 Hawke or Leapers scope. I think you'd find the Hawke 4x12x44 or 4x16x44 (side focus) priceless.
Buds gunshop routinely has great deals on Hawkes.
Anything but the Sub-Optima from Hatsan ......................

I turned in a warranty request on the Hatsan USA website. I got a response within 24 hours saying they are sorry to hear about my scope problems and will send me a replacement asap. That's very good customer service!

Guess what I got in the mail today?
In less than 1 week Hatsan USA sent me (via Priority) an upgraded scope. They sent me a 3-9x40 AO Mil-Dot to replace the 3-9x32 fixed, plain reticle. The new scope looks much beefier and better made than the old one.
I'll mount it tonight and try it out tomorrow. I ordered a Leapers 1 piece mount also, it came a couple days ago.
Thanks Hatsan, great customer service!

Hey Riverdrifter,
Did you pay for an upgrade or was the 3x9x40 mil-dot a freebie?
That scope is all you should need, even though there are better ones out there.
Enjoy,
Kirk

No charge. They just told me they would send a replacement. I was pretty surprised when the 3-9x40AO showed up!

I got the new scope and the 1 piece Accushot rings mounted, and got the gun out to shoot this morning. Everything went great! Gun feels so much more solid with that 1 piece mount, and the new scope is so much better! I shot about 100 pellets this morning and everything held in place fine.

Is your new scope an Optima? Is your Hatsan .22 Vortex a drooper? Mine was 6" low at 20 yards.

Yes the new scope is also an Optima. We'll see how it holds up, the old Optima lasted about 200 pellets. The new one seems much better built though, I'm optimistic!
My Hatsan has no noticeable droop. 6" at 20 yards is pretty extreme, did you send that back?

Field Supply had the Optima 3-9X40AO on sale for $29.99 a while back. I bought one and gave it to a friend for his Diana 24. Seems like a pretty good "budget" scope.
