Title: BT65 Elite .30cal Off To A Great Start!
Post by: Bwalton on August 10, 2015, 03:39:29 PM
Not done tuning...But I am done with the barrel work as far as accuracy goes. Will not get back to tuning till the middle of the week I have a few things that I need to ship out and work on for friends. So I will put this on hold, but wanted to see how she shoots..All I can say is unbelievable! I guess my formula pays off. I have yet to see a .30cal rifle unregulated put up groups such as these :o .256ctc! I had to shoot two more consecutive groups to back it up and make sure that I was not dreaming.
I was not able to get onto the big range because there were PB over there shooting. So I had to settle for the 50yard range, which continue to be a non- challenge for the Hatsan platform. Just a side note: Do not expect this type of performance out the box. This is what they are capable of with a little tweaking, not to be confused with twerking ha ha ha...  Video editing coming soon.

Baxter ,not to pester but have you got a magazine depth measurement ? I may have found a way to get my hands on a carnivore . If the magazine isn't long enough I'll pass and wait for something else to be available up here in Canada (Slayer).thanks

Very, very nice Baxter. This is how it should be done and it's good to see someone taking it upon himself to show everyone how it can be done.

Maximum respect to you sir.  8)

Baxter, just a heads up, but don't try to get to 950 fps with the 50 gr JSB's. The grooves aren't deep enough to keep the pellets engaged, so no rifling marks at all. 1-1/2" groups at 50 yards, which is a major disappointment! Norm and I had high hopes for the 14 shots at 100 FPE with them... I'll detune to 900 fps and see what happens...

How large is the plenum on the regulator you are trying?

Don't tell Joe what?

Oh  Joe
Relax there is no conspiracy against you (that you know about)
Just because there are a few sightings of pdogs with questionable items.( see photo below)
Now back your question.
I said if you or me bought a hatsan we would send it to Baxter to tune it for us.
And don't tell joe I said that because I don't want my good buddy Joe thinking I gave up on the big bore Sumatra goal
That's all Sir
Now I am going down to the rec room at the shady rest nursing home to eat apple sauce and watch Lawrence Welk lol

Thanks for that I have not put the reg in as of yet,  right now I am at the stage that you were when you had to go back into a create some lift. I stop at that point to test the accuracy seeing that I would not be able to finish for a few days. I was going to keep it @ 930fps which the JSB's love that speed. I think that the pellets just need a larger head size on them, I measured them to be small some .299 and .300 Maybe the Daystate would work better they might be a tad larger.

Thanks Baxter. That seems a little on the short side for a long range .257 bullet shooter.ill have to look into the ammo available a little bit more before I take the plunge.thanks again.

Nice job Baxter, congrats on finally getting one.

I really got lucky on my bt 65 30cal it was a nail driver out of the box, I have yet to do anything to make it shoot better, it's already good. I just up'd the power then after a week i tuned it down just a tad. It's been like that ever since.
This 30cal is the best airgun I have shot up to date.

With wars bigger bottle upgrade. I wonder if bt 65 35 cal can make the power?

Hi, Baxter
Can you confirm if Bt 65 Carnivore use the same breech like Bt65 6,35mm ?
Can I swap an 9mm barrel from Carnivore with a spare one from Hatsan at 6.35mm?
Are those barrel the same diameter inside the breech?

Thank you.

No you can not swap, not the same plus the pellet pellet probe is not the same also.

Baxter

Did you ever end up putting a regulator in it?  If so, were you able to maintain fps and improve shot count and/or ES?  I think Im ready, as I would like to get more shots per fill now, but it shoots sooooooooo good Im afraid to mess with it  ;D

Thanks, Chris
