Title: FWB 600 - integrity of cocking lever
Post by: NTSOG on August 01, 2015, 06:49:53 PM
G'day,

I have the opportunity to buy a FWB 600 which was owned from new by a serious target shooter until he died a year or so ago.  It is apparently in excellent condition.  I have heard that there have been issues with the lever that led to modifications in later models.  Is any one familiar with what the problem is?  Is it due to design fault or careless usage or both?  Given this rifle is in good condition after years of use, suggests to me that correct and careful usage does not lead to lever damage/breakage?

Any advice would be welcome.

Jim

As I understand it they added a bear trap mechanism to the 601 and many retrofitted earlier models.

Thanks James,

I will do some more research about retro-fitting.

Jim.
