Title: HW50S 10 shots at 40 yards
Post by: DanD on July 30, 2015, 11:19:02 PM
So close to under a dime. I'll keep practicing. This little rifle is a joy to shoot.

Nice shooting.

Looks like .177.  Does anyone post tight groups at distance with .22?

It is beginning to appear that 1 MOA is standard to achieve with a springer.

Thanks. It's .177. Pellets are JSB 7.87 at ~840 fps with a Vortek SHO kit. The scope is zeroed at 25yards, and point of aim is the bull above the group. I can usually group 5 shots around 1" to 1.25" at 50 yards, but have yet to get under an inch.

Wow! Puts the R7 into a whole new class. Did it add any twang, or increase the hold sensitivity over stock?

It's the HW50S/R6, not the HW30S/R7. The kit decreased twang, recoil, and general drama, while increasing power. It really is impressive output with great manners for a relatively light rifle. I wrote a more thorough review of the kit in the accessories review gate.

I would be more than happy with that result at 40 yds.  The HW50S is a very good springer and a nice
carrying weight as well. Seems that the Vortex kit is the way to go for this rifle

Great shooting, Dan. Given the way our HW30S shoots, not at all surprised your 50 does that. Have been thinking of adding a 50 and you're not make it easy with posts such as this. :)

Now would be a good time Joanie. PA has it on sale $50 off, plus a $45 off coupon stacked on top, as Dan posted in the Bargain gate.
Mine will be here Tuesday. 8)

Dan, no mention of sighting method. Nice regardless.
