Title: Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 AO scope?
Post by: DWSmith on July 05, 2015, 11:08:25 AM
Is this a decent scope for an R9?

Thanks,
Dan

I don't believe that the Banner series of scopes is rated for spring gun use. You may want to look
at the Trophy series which is rated for spring gun use. You can usually get a pretty good deal
from AoA or Optics Planet.

I agree.... don't think it's springer rated.   Works great on one of my PCP's though.. nice clear optics.

It would be like putting a potato sack on a beauty queen......or cheap retread tires on a BMW. Your R9 deserves better glass.

Per e-mail from Bushnell, all scopes Trophy XL and above, are springer rated. Banner is not.

It's packaged with an HW97K at Pyramydair and I always wonder about package deals.

I have quite a bit of experience with firearms but I've always hunted with open iron sights.  I'm new to airguns and hunting with scopes.

Thanks!

I have had this scope on a FWB 300S and it went through several FT matches without any issues. Good quality scope for the money. This (http://www.amazon.com/Can-work-spring-rifle-1000/forum/Fx1QKVOBLRT6KJ7/Tx3OQ1O4G8GIWUN/1/ref=cm_cd_ql_tlc_al?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B0000A0AGW (http://www.amazon.com/Can-work-spring-rifle-1000/forum/Fx1QKVOBLRT6KJ7/Tx3OQ1O4G8GIWUN/1/ref=cm_cd_ql_tlc_al?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B0000A0AGW)) seems to suggest the scope is springer-rated.
