Just received my sound moderator for my AT 44 yesterday from BWalton.... and just like the headliner says WOW. It really makes a difference....

(http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss275/dave19113/IMG_0706_zpsyltdmywf.jpg) (http://s583.photobucket.com/user/dave19113/media/IMG_0706_zpsyltdmywf.jpg.html)

As many who have the AT44 Tac 22cal, well, they are LOUD.... really loud..... Defiantly not a back yard friendly gun.... until now....

(http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss275/dave19113/IMG_0704_zpsxrcapekl.jpg) (http://s583.photobucket.com/user/dave19113/media/IMG_0704_zpsxrcapekl.jpg.html)

Upon opening it from its bubble wrapped package I can see a lot of time went into the production... Fit and finish were perfect....really clean lines. Threading was nice and tight.....

My AT44 does not have the HUMA regulator installed yet so I could not adjust velocities. Pressurized my air supply up to 190 bars then grabbed the lightest 22 cal pellets I had, which were the Crossman 14.3 HP. I figured if it was quiet with light pellets unregulated, my heavier ones regulated would do that much better.

I was only abe to shoot it down in my basement range I have set up due to time restraints and it was indoors so the sound should be louder if any.....

I didnt have a sound decimal reader but I can tell you its QUIET..... sounds like a mild nail gun.... you can hear air coming out but compared to the un moderated one that sounded like a 22 LR standard velocity sound, its awesome.... Its quieter than my RWS 350P

A big Thanks to BWALTON for the creation and all the help along the way!!!!!

Looks beautiful. The only gun I regret selling is my At44 tact. I did the Bob mods to mine and added a lw barrel. I sure wish LDC's were legal here in canada.

Nice work Baxter - a few questions.
That moderator looks like its made from carbon fiber - is it?
Does it effect fps and accuracy?

It is definitely made of some sort of plastic polymer material. As far as accuracy I did not see a shift in my point of impact. I will be doing velocity tests with and without it I quipped.

Does not change velocity, They are all tested before shipping. Accuracy is the same or better.

It's made of aluminium , and Delrin with a carbon fiber tape wrap, this is the very best way to keep cost down while doing a great job at making the rifle quite.

Don't take ldc off and put it back on too many times. It does not like it.

Baxter told me that......well he kinda told me put it on and never take it off. Somthing in tho's words.

I forgot him telling me that ( on my 25cal) so I can not complain and never said a word about it till now, just to warn you. I took mine off a lot when I worked on my gun. It's not as true as it used to be, again completely my fault.

On other hand my ldc on bt65 22 cal that I haven't removed works great.

Perhaps a tougher grade of Al could help to avoid the thread stripping issue?

Assuming that the part that screws onto the 1/2 UNF 20 Tpi thread is not made of delrin, of course.

gracious...... The threads don't strip, I abused my ldc and it's only off a little at 150 yards+.
Baxter makes a great ldc, just use blue locktite when you install on gun and forget it's even there.

There should be no reason to keep taking them on and off, mine has been on for a year now, no they don't strip, what most ppl do is rush to put them on and cross threadd them. Sure I can make that end piece out of aluminum, then it has to be anodized, so instead of costing, a small amount your looking at $50 more, for the same results, plus, I repair at no cost for the original owner. Not a big deal. I try to make it affordable for all, I  can make them any way a person wants as long as they want to pay the cost.
