8) having done a bit of internal massaging to valve then adding a regulator a few months ago, was not real happy with air use finding rifle still a tad air thirsty.
Over the weekend decided to tear it back apart removing hammer/striker mechanics doing some slimming and trimming of hammer weight. * Took @ 30% of it away. Weighed while doing it, but did not write down specifics :P
After reassembling sure enough it lost no velocity, but actually gained some ! Shot cycle was snappier with less noise too. Yup the reduced hammer weight reduced valve dwell while also reducing lock time.
Over to the Chrony having a tin of CPHP 14.3's handy .... 1007 / 1010 fps over 10 shots ;D
Chairgun says @ 32+ ft lbs which is crazy for that pellet and above normal power for an AA PCP.
Before the hammer work that pellet was just shy of 30 ft lbs BTW.
Did no string data collecting, but just from muzzle report and velocity gains made am thoroughly happy gun is operating more efficiently.
This little 410 FAC is really turning into quite the nice hunting rifle.

Sounds pretty sweet Scott. I may be needing some advice shortly with your expertise. I went ahead and bought the S510 Carbine from a guy in Az. If I'm not happy with the shot count I may be looking for advice on putting a regulator in it. The actual install of just the reg seems pretty straight forward but modding the hammer might be a issue. I haven't even decided on a reg yet either. Have you ever had a chance to check out AA's elusive anti-bounce hammer. I'll shoot it for a while and see what pellet it likes and heck who knows the shot count might be sufficient . Nice work on the 410 brother!
