Title: Pump and gun case
Post by: AntlergeekAdam on July 02, 2015, 08:08:03 PM
Looking for a case that I can fit my P-rod and Benjamin pump in? Was wondering what you guys use when you travel with your guns. Was hoping to get one case that'll fit both but won't be too big and bulky. Thanks

;D The inexpensive Plano double un scoped rifle case should do the job the double scoped case is bulky and heavy the other is also not to pricey

How are you traveling? Plane, car, train?

I use a Plano tactical case to store my scoped Condor. The gun with scope mounted is quite large, and I cannot fit my pump inside, I carry the pump separately, and it has never been an issue for me. It holds my scoped gun, LDC and bipod, as well as pellets and tools should I choose to place them there rather than my dedicated pellet/tool box.

I purchased mine from PA for roughly $80, but I'm sure it is available many other places at competitive pricing. I should mention mine is the single gun model and has 5 latches as well as two locks on the case itself and is filled with pluck foam, which is perfect for my needs. It is extremely rugged and I would not hesitate to bring it on an airplane should I decide to travel with it.

I been slammed against a wall a time or two in my life. I don't think I'll be attempting to fly with an airgun any time soon.

By car. I travel a lot in the fall for hunting season and drive to my destinations. Short trips up north as well as trips to work at the range. Looking for one case that'll fit the prod with the stock as well as the pump.

I'd lay out your prod & hand pump side by side to see how much area they take up. Then you will have a better idea of what size case you need. Since you're traveling by car you can probably get by with a less expensive case. Now if you were flying, you'd need a real good one to survive the baggage handlers.

Could make the pump fit a slimmer case by taking off the base for travel/packing.

If you were to go upscale, the Pelican sizing calculator is handy. I'm sure some other case makers have similar tools.
