Title: Anyone disassembled the af Texan yet?
Post by: MJP on July 02, 2015, 03:57:50 AM
Like the topic says, anyone disassembled one yet, because the valve and other parts inside would be interesting to see.  :D  So Texan owners, pics please.

That has to be bull; that is impossible.    Increasing the volume of the reservoir may increase fpe some insignificant degree, but not enough to notice much, or matter, but it WOULD, definitely, increase the number of shots, for ANY air rifle.

He was talking about increasing pressure not volume. Texan works on 3000psi stock.

Though I have not and will not try it, I though you'd get valve lock over 3000 psi. Even if you change the tank the valve is the same right

I'm sure things will get real interesting once more hands hit this platform.

Agreed, custom valve and higher pressure could make for a (even more) serious hunting platform, will be interested to see where this goes.

I would like to get my hands on one, just to see what's inside, but I don't want one for I fear its just as badly build as the rest of af guns. Huge tolerances in extrusions, and so on. Some are tight and others loose, no thanks. And besides the springer looking side lever is ugly.
So any one know about the valve being assisted or not, for what I'm thinking it's not for other ways it would work just fine with higher fill pressure. And wouldn't need 20lbs spring for the hammer...
