Has anyone purchased the new FWB sport? If so, what is your impression on the quality, accuracy, value etc. I've read a couple of comments elsewhere and most reviews are favorable. The styling is very intriguing to me and I can't seem to get it out of my head and I think I would like one.

Booger has one ;)

I don't own one nor have I shot one. There was a lot of build up before the release of this rifle. Many threads with many post. Then the rifle came and went. It seems to have been a real flop. I do believe it is a very good rifle. The problem is at the price you can buy 2-3 rifles just as good. For example you can buy a HW95 from AoA right now for $299. It's seems to be just as good, many will say better. If I wanted a top notch rifle (with similiar design as the FWB) I would buy the HW95 from AoA for $299 and send it directly to Motörhead or some other fine tuner. It would be cheaper and produce a better rifle. I know that may be a harsh opinion since I have never owned or shot the new FWB. Since the release of the new FWB the owners have been like crickets.
-
I've only handled it, not shot it. It exudes that rich build-quality that you'd expect for the money. It's on the heavy side for my taste, but I would be tempted if it were in .22 cal. Not yet, at least. Have only seen one used one in-the-wild, so far.
-
I shot one some month ago. It was very very very twangy out of the box. Other than that the rifle build quality was very good. Oh the barrel was also bent to the other side idk why. The store was furious on fwb because its not supposed to be like this.
-
I tuned one , The build quality was excellent other than the spring guide which I have to say was the worse fit I have ever seen even compared to the old b19s. I could not believe a airgun that cost that much had that kind of tolerance on the guide. After I made a guide it was a totally different airgun, very accurate and smooth. David

900bux? Are they just pulling people's nostalgia string by offering this? Just start making 124/127's again with a nicer trigger and stock.

I did find this vendor selling FWB sports for $650. A much more reasonable price considering some of the new owners have noticed some buzz with the mainspring. The vendor is champ choice. It's selling for $200 less than AOA.

Great price!!
Anyone ever deal with them???
First I've heard of that dealer.
-
$650 is starting to get down to the price they need to be. It really needs to come down another $150-$200 but $650 is better than $850. No doubt it is a nice rifle. It was the price that killed it when an HW95 is just as good for much cheaper. At $850 you could still get a AATX200, AA Prosport, HW97, HW98 cheaper and all better rifles. It is a nice rifle though and one I wouldn't mind having once the price gets competitive with the competition.

Many competition shooters are very familiar with Champion's Choice as a dealer with a long and excellent reputation in the competition shooting field. They've been in business for 37 years and the fellas who run it each have many decades of shooting experience. They specialize in target smallbore and airguns.

That's exactly what I did, AOA HW95 .177+PG2 kit+tune=outstanding shooter! ;)

They are good to go Joe.
I've dealt with them since like 95 or so, when we started shooting NRA High Power and Service Rifle.
Great people with a great reputation, that they always seem to try to live up to.

Thanks guys!!
I really like the looks of that rifle!
On the winner's side of a LARGE 9 ball tourney as we speak!
First place will buy 4 of them!!

Champions Choice is a first rate outfit. They have been around forever. They cater to the competitive shooting crowd. That is their focus market and do not get out of bounds. Very similiar to Pilkguns but CC caters to the high power stuff too. Have full confidence you aren't being scammed. The only reason they have the new FWB is they are a dealer for FWB and all the very high end target rifles.

The FWB is a very nice rifle after tuning. :) Rocker did a great job. I complained to FWB about the spring and they sent me a redesigned spring that when needed I will replace with. It is my opinion that the FWB has the sexiest stock of all my rifles & the quality of the rifle is superb. I wish I had found the rifle for $650, but then again I decided to be the guinea pig.

I have no clue, but they also said the engineers were looking at the spring guides as well. Be aware they do not answer their emails very fast. At first they denied knowing there was any problem, then I sent other reviews from air rifle reviewers. I think they were hoping I would just go away. :)

I just noticed that Champchoice is now out of stock on the $650 FWB Sporter. They had 4 or 5 prior to starting this thread and that number held steady for several weeks prior to this thread. My conclusion is this discussion has helped them sell out in a very short time. If anyone has purchased the air gun, please share your thoughts on it.

Its to pretty to work on, man I was worried about scratching it to say the least. David

I just received the FWB Sport I ordered.I like it.It's actually a fairly light rifle and well balanced.I mounted a scope and started with RWS Superdome pellets simply because they were on top of the pellets in my pellet tool box.Accuracy was excellent.I had an occasional flyer probably because the pellets were shot without sorting. There was no smoke or burning oil smell.I liked the trigger pull straight out of the box.The bore is on the tight side.I'm not sure if it will handle Crosman Premiers.Definitely a tighter bore than my TX-200.

Spring noise? I had mine fixed though.
-
No spring noise as far as I can tell.Fifteen years of machine guns and turbine engines took care of that.

I have poor eyes, but I do like the open sights.
-
The open sights are very good.I have BKL two piece mounts on the rifle now since I didn't A Sportsmatch mount. They may hold.

BLK on mine as well. Just as good.
-
I put the FWB sportsmatch mount on mine with the hardened crosspin, the barrel has a lot of droop. It was shooting around 8" low at ten yards. I took them off and left it with the irons for the time being.

I suspect an RWS lockdown mount would hold position on the FWB.

BLK 1 pc droop mount on mine. Mine did not have that much droop.
-
I have the two piece BKL mounts on mine. They're not going to hold.I just ordered the Sportsmatch mount. My rifle doesn't have barrel droop. It is accurate but the point of impact is changing slowly because of the mounts moving.
-
I received the Sportsmatch mount.I ordered the medium height version. The locking pin works well.Removed it after an hour or so.The medum height version is very limited in the scopes it can handle. My rifle doesn't have barrel droop. It shoots several inches high. The barrel block is bored at an angle.I assume the machinist that made the part misloaded the part on the machining fixture.
I installed a UTG TO-6 anti droop mount backwards with Weaver high rings. The mount is holding position and took care of the problem. The Centerpoint 4-16X44 scope just clears the UTG base with high rings.
The rifle will definitely let you know if the pellets vary much in head diameter or weight. After a couple of sessions shooting with sorted pellets I tried pellets straight from the tin.Had nice tight groups, good groups with one flyer, and shotgun patterns, followed by tight groups.
