Title: New HW95 Luxus
Post by: Tatsudoshi on June 15, 2015, 04:16:35 PM
Good Day Everyone

I just pulled the trigger on a new HW95 Luxus in .177, I have been without an air rifle for a long time
and after much research I finally made my decision.
Now I just have to wait for her to arrive and have a look at this beauty.
Any advice on first thing's to do besides cleaning the barrel?

Take Care

Welcome to GTA and congrats on your new HW95.  I always hear clean the barrel, do a good visual inspection, and shoot it.  You can also check if all screws are tight and good.

Have fun and shoot safe!

It's very important to take some pics and share them with the forum! I'm curious if it has the new stock with symmetrical cheek pieces.
I recently got an HW50S and wasted lots of time chasing zero and retightening the screws, so I would recommend loctiting those puppies first thing. I use gun-tite green loctite available from the local Gander Mountain store. I think many shooters use the blue stuff, too.
Have fun and enjoy your new HW.

Put a least 1000 pelllets thru it before thinking it needs a tune or other mods.  some of my HW rifles sounded like they had broken springs before they were broken in.

Welcome Daniel!
The HW95 Luxus is a sweet tack driver. I absolutely love mine. I second Dans advise. Remove the front stock screws, clean the threads with a little rubbing alcohol and reinstalling them with with lock tight. Make sure they are good and tight. Next, make sure the screw at the front of the trigger guard is good and tight. Lastly just hand tighten the screw at the rear of the trigger guard. Do not over tighten this screw. Now just shoot her like there's no tomorrow. If you're new to springers, use the artillery hold. Once learned you will enjoy the incredible and consistant accuracy this gun is capable of. Enjoy!
