Title: Very thin washers to shim up a breech seal
Post by: vernongt on June 13, 2015, 06:13:34 PM
G'day Hatsan shooters,
Can anyone tell me where I can get some "shim washers" [VERY THIN], that I can use to shim UP the breech seal in my 125s?

I'd also like to do the same for my Benji Trail NP XL as well.  :D
If you know that the same shim works in both rifles, I'd be delighted to know that too?

If I need to purchase them from a hardware store, could you tell me the sizes [OD, ID & thickness]?

Vernon

Most people use dental floss or plumbers tape under the o-ring.

If the o-rings are flattening out it may be time to replace them.

Local hardware stores or industrial sales are good choices.

On line at 'the o-ring store' if you want to buy cheap and in bulk.

I store my air guns 'broke' so there is no pressure on the o-ring.
(Not cocked, just the action disengaged from the detente.)

Cheers,
Smoketown

I bought Mylar flat washers at my local hardware store.  They are thin and come in different ODs.  The required ID can be produced with either a Dremel and a cone shaped grind stone or by using a hole punch.  These washers can be made even thinner by rubbing them on 400 grit sandpaper.  Works very well for me.
