I was looking at the local outdoor store's "Good Deal Cavern" ;) and found a Benjamin Trail NP 1500. The reason it was there was the picatinny rail that mounts to the rifle had broken off cleanly. Their normal price for the gun is $255; this one was there for $170.
Just thinking of how to fix that...it appears the rail was on there with CA adhesive. I'm thinking I would use JB Weld to re-mount that rail. I could match it exactly to the previous spot where it had fractured.
Any thoughts about a fix for that? Anybody had similar repair?

Seems like it should have been refurbed. You might be able to buy it and get crosman to fix it.
-
If you feel it's a good deal, buy it. Then contact Crosman about a warranty repair. Their usual practice is to just send a new gun rather than repairing it and returning it.

I doubt that JB Weld would stand up to the recoil. Warranty from Crosman sounds like a better idea.
-
If Crosman won't warranty it, you can order a new compression tube from them, probably for less than $25, including shipping.

Thos rails are welded on....for a good reason

Thanks for all the input - good advice on the warranty option. That's probably what I'll do.
