More specifically the Career 707 9mm/.357 but any 707 owners input would be helpful.
Looking to fill a spot between my .117 Disco and Dragon.
NordicPirate seems to absolutely love his! Couldn't help but notice. ;)
I want something that likes lead balls...a size that is easy to find...and a size that a ball mold is common. From what ive read, the 9mm 707 Ultra takes to .360 balls quite well. Possibly .357 too. I dont know.
I like the 707s multi shot ability, the power adjustment, and isn't nearly as air hungry as my Dragon (5 good shots max but 3 devastating ones! Just think...there are much more powerful pneumatics than a Dragon out there!). Oops. :-\ Sidetracked.
I noticed that NordicPirates 707 has a curved lever and different stock than the ones listed in all the online stores... Is that the latest model? Pirate?
-
Can you even find a 707 Ultra anywhere anylonger ?, I don't even see them popping up in the classifieds no more, surely is a cheap gun to shoot, the Ballistic Product .360 roundball runs at less than a nicle a shot
-
Ive found what is "called" a 707 Ultra anyway. What makes an ultra and ultra? ???
-
Ultra is the 9mm Model, there's 707s in .22 and .25.
You should look into the .25 Sumatra too, wanderfull gun
-
Ultra is the 9mm Model, there's 707s in .22 and .25.
Well....then they do still sell them.bout $550
So all the ultras look like yours with a curved lever?
You should look into the .25 Sumatra too, wanderfull gun
Will do. Which is the better value? In your eyes.
Will a .25 Sumatra take a lead ball? That is kinda a requirement of mine for big bore. Thanks man.
-
No, the Sumatra won't take a roundball.
Most of the 9mm Ultras out there have a straight lever action, I've only seen a couple like mine.
Where have you seen any for sale ?...because I wouldn't mind get me a second one :)

spysir
Thanks for the great info!
"If I wanted a new 707 Ultra I would try ARS first." Sorry to sound stupid but what or who is ARS?
"Do think about a sigle shot also." Why? I seem to find them close to the same price. Simpler?
How about a home poured bullet from a mold? Probably fine?
Thanks
NomadicPiarte
I just google career 707 ultra 9mm
-
Thanks tons guys!
Ive been doing A LOT of research on the 707 ultra. Im kinda stuck on that one.
Like the fact that it likes ball and bullets both, repeater, seem to be popular, I have found very few negatives about them, price is quite fair in my opinion, and NomadicPirate would marry his if it could cook! ;)
I was thinking you guys should get together and compile a history of the changes in the career line of big bores since the started selling them here in the us. The models and updates all that. Its a shame to not share that knowledge.
-
Hey Mojo,,I'm in the same boat, lol! I was waiting on the New Condor's to come in in .25 cal and now they are,,but I'm hung up on the 9mm and they will hold it for me until I decide, but I can't expect it forever, lol. What to do,,too many decisions he he.
I want that last 707 Ultra Bad,,but I want the .25 cal condor too so I soon have to make the choice.
Hope you get yours soon and let us know what you think of it.
Thanks,
Troy

Yea. You couldnt go wrong either way. Im leaning the 707 Ultra for the price to shoot point, the if I need to make my own ammo point, being a repeater, and adjustability (Condor is adjustable too. right?). Ive got a dragon and like the quality. If I won the lottery.......guess i have to buy a ticket. There are so many good PCPs out there these days at decent prices too.
Good luck
-
Thanks Mojo! Well I have the option and I have it nuntil tomorrow to make up my mind as there's guys are wanting that 707.I've read so much about the Orings on the breech probe blowing out that it's got me undecided.I may have to just say no and keep my existing plan so someone else can have it,(But being the last of it's kind,I'm still pondering).
Yes it is and the thing that's got me about the New .25 Cal Condor is that you can buy all the rest of the calibers barrels.I think I'm going to pass on the 707 and let those guys go for the gold, lol, and keep my current plan for the Condor.I apprecieate them giving me another day to decide, but I don't want to mess up a sale for them either! Keep with the plan my wife say's,lol.
Besides,,passing on this may open another option that may even be better. Good Luck and I hope you get what you wan to.
Thanks.

Where is that Ultra ?
-
Where is that Ultra ?
Im working on it.
-
000 buckshot is .360" diameter.
I might even get a .35 Remington barrel for my planned PCP build. I'm thinking about making it as a switch barrel so I can convert it to .25, .28, .30, .38, .45 and .410
I may narrow it down to .25, .30, .38 and .410. A BB gun for all seasons.
-
Now that sounds pretty cool, especially that .410. 8)
-
I've seen that one, the restriction to an even smaller ammo loading port makes it undesireble in my case, the Ultra has a lot of potential if we can only get a bullet maker to make 100 or so gr ammo for it,.....I'm working on it :)
-
Well. Im getting closer to a decision. I may have sold an old Briggs and Stratton (1934) engine on craigslist. That would make a new gun a sure thing.
Last questions. Mostly to Pirate....or people who own a 707 Ultra.
So a .360 ball is a good choice....as far as balls go?
Should i send it in directly to be tuned before I even get it?
Where should i send it if so?
How much is a good tune?
Anybody want to save me from a mistake????(in their eyes)
My requirements again.
Under $700
Takes to lead balls fine.
Repeater. (more a want than required)
Adjustable power.
Mid big bore size. (I already have a Dragon .50)
Thanks again for your patience guys!!!
David

Where is that Ultra ?
Speciality Shooting Sport Outdoors Manny.
-
Thanks Bandit.
How much was it?
the best price ive found on line is $575 delivered.
Hope you like your Condor.

Well seems that the ultra fits all of your requirements.
the .360 Ballistic Product roundball is the only round worth getting right now, there's some slugs being developed but they are not ready yet, The .360 roundball comes out at less than a nickle per shot, same price of a .25 pellet :)
no need to get her tuned right away, i would do that in a few months, a good tune runs in the 200 bucks range
-
Should i break it in for a year before tuning? Work it for a year under warrantee? A warrantee might be void with a "tune".....? Im sure id still have fun.
Who did yours again?
-
The gun it's awsome without a tune. I only sent mine in because the check valve was starting to make the needle in my pump jump on the first time air was going in, but the gun was still working perfect
if you end up getting her let me know I'll fill you in on a couple of little things you'll need to know ;)
-
Thanks Pirate!! ;D
I found them now for $559 Shipped. Dont think i will get a better deal than that.
-
Hey Mojo,,they are $674.00 here and that's high compared to down there.I should buy it,,but I have my Sumatra and I just Love it.I do want another,,but I'm leaning towards the 909S in .45 cal. Have Fun with whatever you decide on,
Thanks,
Troy
-
Bandit
I was thinking a .45 was too close in size to my Dragon .50.
A .357 is a better between gun for me. Im sure the 909s would be awesome too.
Thanks
-
You might wanna look into the 202s, single shot, but more possible variety in bullets than the 707
-
The ball has been dropped.
airgunsdirect.com $559 delivered.
707 Ultra 9mm/357
Got to find some balls now. (You know what I mean!)
I will need to learn your tips now Manny! It is, after all, your fault!
-
First of all get your Roundballs from Ballistic Product an 8 # bottle of the .360 is 40 bucks, that's less than the cost of a .25 pellet ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Now, the Ultra has a probe, the Probe has 2 O-rings, every 300-500 shots those O-rings will need to be changed, you'll know when because you'll feel some air hitting your holding hand when shooting.
The best fitting O-ring I found are #60 from ACE Hardware

Thanks I will be getting some of those O rings then because my dragon has the same probe anyway.
And i will be buying some of those balls before spring.
Thank you tons.
How about bolt O rings or what ever the correct name is? Do they last a while or?
MORE INFO!!!! LOL!!!
Jonny
Thanks. Looking forward to getting it!!! It is a disease. They are cheaper than motorcycles. Well most of them.
Anybody know where i can get a rebuild kit for a Benjamin Discovery pump? (just in case)
-
The bolt O-rings are the ones I'm talking about.
if you are thinking of the filling port, just get some fosters quick male fittings from Pyramyd, they scew on in a second

Lesson learned.
airgunsdirect.net is !##$%.
Called my credit card company today.
They said I would have to wait a couple more days before they would take action. Im fine with that. They dont return calls or e-mails. Too bad. They have a nice website and good prices. LOL!!!!
Oh well. :-\ At least i put it on my credit card.
-
If you still looking for a 707, I might, might sell mine, not sure yet, I need to sell one or 2 guns, just can't make up my mind on wich ones ::) ::) ::)
-
Sorry to hear it David, what i found was that there were NO korean guns above a .25 available anywhere. I know you spent a lot of time looking too and have found the same thing to be true. Be careful also of scammers, of the lat 4 BB deals i tried to make, 2 of them seemed weird and i backed out, now i've found the same pictures that were advertised for sale, in old forum threads.. either it's the same gun and poster by chance.. or it's a scammer who copied that pic.. whats the odds either way? Of two of them? Just beware because right now were limited to a used gun or semi custom gun proposition. The used gun market is scarce and although pyramid says they are getting 909's in on april 1st, the rep i talked to their seemed to be telling me not to hold my breath, there is some issue due to customs or the political/military situation, something is holding up shipment and the old guns like the 202s and 9mm ultra probably won't be back. If i myself can get my hands on one i'm going to hold on to it this time ;D
-
Thanks Jonny.
I am the trusting sort. :-[ (sucker)
I will just have to take Ronald Reagan's advice. "Trust..but verify".
Something unbelievable happened though!!!!
They sent me an email!!!!
I cooled my temper and wrote a polite version of....Where the heck is my gun you dorks!!!!
I asked when, where and how it was shipped. I expect a sorry but... :P
At least I got my Dragon while the gettin was good. Better than no BB gun. ::)
Maybe this is a good opportunity for other USA makers to jump in the BB gun market when there is a vacuum. :-\
-
New email from them today.
That is a specialty item and we are waiting for our distributer to contact us about it. It has been discontinued but we believe we should have a couple available.
That is a specialty item. Your web site never mentioned anything about a Career 707 Ultra being a "specialty item".
and we are waiting for our distributer to contact us about it. What about your customers? If you dont have a product to ship .....dont you consider contacting that customer?
It has been discontinued. When I placed the order there was no mention about the product being "discontinued.
but we believe we should have a couple available. You believe???? Either you do or dont. I just want one. The one I ordered.
As you can probably tell Im not very impressed. I have been very patiently waiting for my gun. I will wait until monday after noon to report you to my credit card company. I understand starting a new business is difficult but...
If I have to cancel my credit card and wait for a new one......?
So far you have given me NO reason to trust you. Its up to you....
-
That surely not worthy
-
That surely not worthy
Im giving them until Monday...
I think i have about a 2% chance of anything positive.
What can I say? Im a glass half full kinda guy. LOL!!!!!!
I think a call to the card company a canceling and new card is gona happen. Just cant trust what they might do with my info. Yes. Suckage.

Very dicey proposition right now on getting a BB. Unless it's someone you know or someone with verified selling record it's up in the air till it's in your hands. I really do think David, that you'll get your money back ok, i bet they are an unmanned site, someones 2nd job in their basement kind of thing. I did a similar order with someone like that, who drop ships everything, and they just took a long time to get my funds returned. They DID charge me a "return fee" though.. >:(
Boy now more than ever, if Crosman comes out with an affordable bigbore in a production quantity, they will OWN the bigbore market huh? J

Yea I should have used my brain and checked out their rating first. My fault. They emailed me today and said they refunded my money but take 10 days to show up. Does that sound right J/ I think you are right about the "2nd job in their basement kind of thing".
"Boy now more than ever, if Crosman comes out with an affordable bigbore in a production quantity, they will OWN the bigbore market huh? "
Got that right!!. Guys like us are addicted and spreading the word only to leave people wanting! There is a BIG door open! should be interesting.... Love to be a fly on the wall in their design department right now!!!
