Title: Muzzle brake on HW 30 S
Post by: zenonine on April 30, 2015, 12:07:36 PM
Has anyone noticed a difference in the accuracy of their HW30S with the addition of a muzzle brake ? Ordering one tomorrow from Straight Shooters.

I found the SS brake to be a bit too heavy for the 30s.... Don't think it needs it... If you must have one find one that is lighter in weight -- Apex from JM  or something similar.

Happy Shootin!

I put a ARH Apex brake on mine, and it shifted the POI down 1/4" @ 10 yds, but the consistent accuracy remained.

I also have an Apex installed and only thing hurting my accuracy is me. All kidding aside I noticed no difference.

Yeah, I read your post discussing what you had to do to install it. No thanks.

Memory fails me, I don't remember posting about muzzle brake install. It actually went on very easy and after 3,000 pellets or so has not moved.

Accuracy should not change. POI and pellet preference may as you are changing the barrel harmonics. I tried Apex, HW, HPA and SS brakes on my 34 Panther and required a different pellet for each.
