Title: Hatsan Vortex Supreme .177 -vs- Beeman FTS
Post by: DanD on April 29, 2015, 12:40:48 PM
Hi all,
Here is a comparison of Vortex Supreme and  Beeman FTS .177 pellets, I understand both to be rebranded H&N Field Target Trophys. The Vortex and Beeman pellets look identical. I do not have FTTs to compare. I have noticed that the Vortex pellets seem to group tighter.
I shot 10 shot strings of each pellet through my Vortek SHO kitted HW50S with several hundred shots on the kit. Muzzle was 1 foot from the chrony.

Beeman FTS
1) 804.1   2) 793.5  3) 802.0 4) 795.5  5) 798.2  6) 791.4  7) 790.2  8) 802.5  9) 801.5  10) 797.2
Low 790.2  High 804.1  Avg 797.6   ES 13.86  SD 4.89
FPE 12.0-12.4  Avg FPE 12.2 assuming claimed weight of 8.64gr

Vortek Supreme
1) 787.6  2) 792.7  3) 792.9  4) 795.9  5) 791.3  6) 794.2  7) 795.0  8) 794.7  9) 791.5  10) 797.4
Low 787.6  High 797.4  Avg 793.3  ES 9.75  SD 2.82
FPE 11.9-12.2  Avg FPE 12.1 assuming claimed weight of 8.64gr

More testing would be required to make a definitive statement about quality and consistency of the different rebrands of H&N pellets, but I think these results show the Hatsan pellets to be of excellent quality and worth a try.

Thanks for reading.
