This morning, after the huge storm that carried lightening, thunder, high winds, and heavy rain, the animals all came out of hiding to see what they could get to eat. In the Pasture (across the road) the Bluebirds, Mocking Birds, and Starlings were scurrying around on the ground and in the trees. I steadied up against one of the columns on the front porch and waited for this one to hit the "PAUSE" button. Because of the distance, I tried a holdover of one dot. When I touched off the trigger, there was no movement from this guy. The way you see him is the way he went down - no jumping about and no flapping of wings.
After I put on my rubber boots, I stepped of 48 strides from the front porch to where the bird died. This is definitely my longest shot ever on a Starling with any kind of rifle. I am really liking my new Center Point scope. And many of you know that I LOVE my Discovery .22. And finally, I am coming to appreciate these new JSB Match Diabolo 15.89 gr pellets - deadly accurate out of my Discovery.

Thanks, guys, and that put an end to the target practice for the day. The neighbor's cat will have something to eat tonight.

Good shooting.
Did JSB come out with "new" JSB Jumbo (15.8gr) pellets, or new to your Disco?

Harry, I bought the Discovery .22 in August, 2013. The pellets were purchased very recently; therefore, the "new" refers to the fact that they are new to me. I have shot about 20 or 30 of them so far, and really like them. Our Spring Squirrel Season starts this coming Saturday; so I will have an opportunity to get some shots at squirrels. As usual, I will have a thread that will chronicle my season.
Thanks for reading.
