Title: CenterPoint 3-9x32mm Focus
Post by: ShootingAir on April 25, 2015, 01:50:33 PM
Hi all,
My Benjamin Titan came with a CenterPoint 3-9x32mm scope.
The problem I am having is that things begin to get blurry past about 22 yards or so.
The reticle is nice and sharp.
I am using it at 8x magnification.
I have turned the eye piece (ocular adjustment) all the way clockwise, which is the direction where things become clearer, but that is not enough.
I have tried changing the eye relief but it did not help.

Here are the scope specs from the manual:

Magnification - 3x-9x
Objective Diameter - 32mm
Exit Pupil - 10.7mm - 3.6mm
Eye Relief - 3.15"
Field of View (@ 100yds) - 39.0' - 13.0'
Tube Diameter - 1"
Length - 11.8"
Weight - 11.29 oz
W/E Adjust Click Value - 1/4 MOA
Parallax Setting - 15 yds

Is the scope bad or is it something to be expected from a cheap scope like this? Surely the CenterPoint did not make a scope good only to 25 yards?

Thanks.

Yes (bad).  It may just be incorrectly adjusted from the factory.

See if yours can be user-adjusted here:  http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=T97GCZqbZio (http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=T97GCZqbZio)

Additionally, if so, there was also a "sweet spot" adjustment I had to make on the ocular bell of my Optima scope (may not apply to yours)

If you search the T97GCZqbZio on this forum I think you may find slightly more detail.

Hope this helps

I got one of these that came with my Crosman Nitro Venom.
And it was bad right out of the box.
When looking through it with the mag adjusted anywhere above 5x you can either see the crosshairs or the target, but not both at the same time.
If I adjust the ocular ring to see the crosshairs, the target is blurry.
If I adjust it so I can see the target, the crosshairs are blurry.
Its screwed.
I keep it on 5x and adjust it where I can see the crosshairs. It will let me use it out to about 40yds this way.
Any further than that and its blurry past 40 yds.
I should have sent it back, but the gun worked fine and didn't want to send the whole thing back since it was a package deal.
And besides, its a cheap scope so what do you expect?
