Title: BDC optic correction ... AKA: Clicking
Post by: Motorhead on April 23, 2015, 04:14:58 PM
 8) Threw the years have had a few BDC scopes used on the powder burners.  Once you had the correct calibration of dial in place the ability to drop a bullet near your POA was easy peezy.

Recent years you hardly see BDC type optics any more  :P tho in some disciplines of air rifle competition ( Open class FT ) you will see conversions being made to a scopes elevation turret.

Well ... reason for this post is that of "lets say" Rediscovery of a BDC equipped scopes ease of use ;D
Have been shooting AG's for many years and Field target "Hunter" for the past 4 years give or take.
Just recently set up a .177 cal OPEN class rifle using a typical larger Side Focus wheel, but now added the oversize Elevation turret wheel so POA and range estimated via parallax wheel could be "Dialed In" via clicking elevation to a scale attached done by real world shooting at given distances.

Wholly smokes how friggen cool !!
10 yards to 55 yards on the mark while aiming DEAD CENTER of cross hairs ... feels like cheating  :o

While not very practical for a field hunting rig, those who bench shoot or can deal with the added bulk get a bonus that fudging your holdover / under is a thing of the past.

Cool stuff  8) 8)
