Jim was going to do another batch but that's going to be postponed of course due to his health conditions. Let's just hope he makes a full/speedy recovery.
I totally understand the 300S is a 10m rifle and will never be a magnum but I'm hoping to get around 675fps with 7.5-8gr pellets. I talked to Jim about 3 weeks ago and he expected the new Arctic Spring to do mid to high 600s with 7.7gr pellet which is the exact range I'm looking for. If I cab get 8.44gr JSB's to be in the 625-ish range, I'll be happy.
In the mean time, I would like to try some other springs until the Arctic springs become available.
Does anyone have an Arctic spring outside a gun that they could measure for me? I would love to know the OD/ID, total length, and coil count. That way I'll see if any of the Titan XS or similar springs could possible be cut down (and yes, I understand the steps of cutting down a spring/heating the end/flattening, etc..)
I've also a lot of great things about the Merlin springs that JM used to make too. Again, it's difficult to find any information regarding dimensions/coil count, etc..
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure it's an Arctic spring but I have one of Jim's 300 springs that I'll measure/count later today.

Just giving the thread a bump. Yrok did help me out but we're not sure if it's an Arctic spring.
If anyone is positive they have an Arctic spring or any other aftermarket 300S spring that's given them good results, please post the name/specs. Thanks.

I've got an Arctic that is 28 coils of .110 wire, 9.5" oal (set) with a .554" id.

Thanks a lot!

Just saw this on Jim's site under "Today's Specials"
New 5-6-2015
Arctic custom mainspring- tighter fit- smoother performance.
Replaces the two spring setup to one on the later 300S models
31 coils x .105 wire.
I know this thread is kinda old, just happened to remember seeing it here...maybe it will help.

I just put an order in for one, I'll pm info when it comes in!!

Not sure of spring thickness, 31 coils, 9.5" long. I received my JM Arctic spring today!!

As I recall, FWB went from single spring to the dual springs to reduce torque when the rifle fires.
So this is going back to the single spring.

Nice...I had no idea ARH had them again until I saw this thread. Jim has helped me out a bunch with questions and I knew he was putting out another run....but figured they would be on the backburner due to the medical issues.
Just ordered an Arctic spring. I have a spring coming from Gotha so I'll be able to do a side-by-side comparison of the two.
