First off I would like to thank everyone who told me to take this gun as an exchange for my Super Streak, too say I'm pleased with it is an understatement. The Benji Trail NP XL is a flat great weapon that I now would honestly have too say "GET ONE" you will not be disappointed in it's power or accuracy!!!After only 100 shot's it now has started stacking it's pellet's at 25yd's with 1 or 2 flyer's in a 10 shot string that of course "I" will blame on a bad factory seal, at least till I change it :D. Which remind's me would one of our Great member's let me know if the seal is the same as the SS was(I have a new factory seal from my old gun sitting here) an I think it was the Walther Talon seal from JM? I have also changed the scope out on my XL to one I got from Richard(AirScopes) which is a clone of the Leupold Mark4 3.5x10 power side focus 40mm glass/30mm tube tactical,WHICH I mean it is an exact copy of the one I have on my 300win. custom Rem.700,but it sure did not cost like the real one!!! So far I have been impressed with it, nice clear glass an positive click adjustment(even gave it the square test). I'm sorry I can't give more info on it but it arrived in the box without any paper's or even where it was made just marked on bottom as Leupold Mark4,I will keep you all informed on how it stand's up to the XL's recoil!?! 8)

Hey Jay, Glad you got a good one, I thought I had too, considering the first 5 rounds I put through her. The next day, I went out to get the scope sighted in. The first thing I noticed, was that there was absolutely no smoke! The second thing I noticed, was the groups were getting bigger and bigger. From then on, it was spraying pellets all over the target, it was smoking, and the best for a group I could come up with was about 6"!
This demanded that an immediate tear-down was required. What I found was that the seal was almost totally frayed around its front perimeter. I had the JM seal I had put into my first XL on hand, but I hadn't used my coke can to remove it and it therefore was not as pristine as it should be. As it stands now, I'm waiting on a couple of seals from Jim, and I plan to do a total tune as soon as I get all my ducks lined up.
It would be my guess that the gun never received any mystery oil in front of the piston and seal before it left the factory. After a very few shots the seal had frayed, and began to allow the stuff to pass to the front of the assembly. That's just my take on the situation, maybe some of you have come across this in your travels and can shed some light on it?

Thank's everyone I am for sure happy with it. Next is a change over to .22 just as soon as I finish seasoning in the .177 barrel an do a home tune to it, I really think this much power should be under a .22 size pellet an will make a great hunting gun.I have every thing I need but for either a shroud or brake for the barrel(can't decide). Paul that bite's your seal went so fast although I think mine is nicked up also from the factory, but it only smoked for about the first 20 or so shot's an have seen no more since(just a flyer every couple of shot's) keep us up to date on it.

Jay, Congrats and welcome to the XL group.
Check for smoke in the barrel. Mine stopped making clouds after about 20 or so shots, but it ledft smoke in the barrel for about 500. That's when I said enough and found the seal had a few chunks out. I put one of JM's Walther Talon-Hunter seals in and it's been fine since.
The 22 will give you plenty of wallop for critters. Mine's a bit slower than most, it throws Predators at 825fps into one ragged hole at 30 yards.
Paul.
