looks like the scope went kersplat on my gamo big cat.... she's untuned, and pretty violent when she shoots. POI is still on, but its blurry as all getout. i can't figure out why this thing keeps destroying scopes. blew my first 4-16 cp, and the stock gamo scope, and now the stock scope that came with the titan GP. i will try a 3-9x CP, mabey... i don't like a big scope on that rifle, its so light, that i would prefer to keep it light. mabey its finally time to ship it off to ed for a top notched shadow tune!

well why don't you take that thing apart and debur and lube it and stuff that stock with something that will help a lot . you gonna have to sooner or later as long as you are addicted to this sport lol!!!!! thanks david

well, i paid a hundred bucks for the gun... 30 bucks for the trigger... other than that, i havn't put a dime in it... and it will still stack pellets under about a nickel at 25 yds. not as tight as my Titan GP, but sadly, the gamo has gotten back burner since the Titan came into town... i'l try another scope on it... if it seems to hold the scope good, i will send it to ed.

For a decent optics low cost scope that can take strong recoil, it's hard to beat the Centerpoint at Walmart for $64 plus .97 shipping plus sales tax: http://www.walmart.com/ip/CenterPoint-4-16x40mm-Scope/10248654 (http://www.walmart.com/ip/CenterPoint-4-16x40mm-Scope/10248654)
They do free ship to store if you're going to the store anyways and want to save a buck, but will take longer to deliver.

Maybe if the POI is OK but its "blurry as all getout" you might need to go to the eye doctor. LOL
Everything is blurry to me without my glasses. LOL

With the title of this thread and the comment about things now being blurry, I COULD make a remark. But Edward, I think I'll pass on this one for both our sakes. :P
HeeHee
Good luck and....
Happy Shooting!!!!

just a thought on blowing scopes i have titan gp 22 and gamo whisper vh 177 they now have the gamo 1 piece scope mount, an scope rail.
problem solved. also a couple of wraps of teflon tape at the mount rings, and we are off to the races. hope this helps and i am always open to suggestions. thanks to all great site RHINOTEX

Just to say...I haven't had a LOT of luck with cheaper scopes that are supposedly rated for springers...there are some. Be sure you are getting a springer-rated scope with a warrantee. If you keep buying any-ol' $40 scope, you can easily and quickly add up to the cost of something like a Hawke that was built for the cause.

hawke airmax will handle the recoil....also recommend a hawke mount as they are far superior to accu-shot mounts. scope and mount will roughly run around $155.

Your gun probably has a bad piston seal. It's the #1 reason for broken scopes. They also cause the "violent" (or rough) shot cycle that you mentioned. I would not put another scope on it unless you get the problem fixed.
