Title: Some Groups... PB WARNING
Post by: 454 Big Block Chevy on February 13, 2011, 08:18:59 PM
oh no, i've gone and done it!!!!  today i shot my best grouping ever with my .280 remington (Winchester model 70 featherweight).  i'd say a fantastic group.  using my personal handloads, Nosler Ballistic Tip 140 grain using 57 grains of Reloader 19 (maximum load, work up to it).  Recoil is stout, and i don't know the FPS, YET... all i know is it sizzles, and you could hear the bullet impacting the dirt berm behind the target.

oh yes, my apologies.  I've shot my Powder burners 5000% better in the last year, than i ever have... when i started shooting my AG's a lot.  well, my rifle skills at least.  my PISTOLA skills are lacking still.

It's always going to be tougher to shoot an airgun, especially a springer, so the skills translate nicely to powder burners.
As for pistols, just a basic suggestion for you would be to use the ever popular Weaver stance.
Study exactly how to do it in detail, then practice, practice, practice.
Remember, if you're right-handed, you push slightly with your right as you pull with equal force with your left.
It nicely stabilizes pistols and revolvers, especially bigger ones such as the .44 Magnum.
