While the LGV was shooting pretty well with the Simmons, I knew with a little bit better glass, better results could be obtained.
I put the Hawke 3-12X Varmint on but I couldn't find a stop pin for the rear ring so I made one.
After zeroing at 10 yards (3 shots) and holding about 2 mil-dots up, I moved the trap to the end of my 18 yards and re-zeroed, 1/2 mil-dot up.
Then I went and got the bucket and sticks and settled in for a five shot group of CPL 7.9s at 18 yards.

I think if I set this bad boy up for HFT I might go with 4.51mm H&N 8.64s.
As it is the LGV and the R1 are backups for the TX200 & Marauder ;)

Yesterday the Ed (Duckfish) asked why I didn't use 8.4 grain AA? I thought I didn't have any then I remembered Jesse (Booger) sent me some last year.
AA 8.4 grain 4.51mm
1. 878 Low: 868 FPE: 14.3
2. 873 High: 881
3. 874 Avg: 875
4. 881 ES: 14
5. 868 Sd: 5.3
4.51mm appears to be a little loose for the LGV chamber but, having said that, the pellets still go in the same hole regardless of the weight or speed. Once you zero the zcope for a pellet just settle back and shoot.
The LGV is definitely a keeper and someone with a better heartbeat and better eyes would definitely bring home the gold. IMHO ;)

Whoever sold you that Walther is a fool! ;D
It looks like that accuracy you are getting post tune is just as good as you'd get from any of the reputed high accuracy underlevers like TX200, HW97, etc. I remember that Walther shot an average of 855fps with JSB 8.4 pre tune, so it did gain a little bit of power, and I'm sure smoothness from the Motorhead magic. ;D
By the way, I won't get to see the Walther at the field target match in Ione tomorrow. ;( Work has conspired to keep me away from the first match of the season. Honest, its not my fear of the Walther beating the pants off my score (well, a little true at least!) ;D

OK Mark.
See you next month.
