Thanks for the welcome and glad I found the forum.

I'm going to strip and clean the lightning as it's a bit twangy and fierce on recoil at the minute so methinks it may benefit from a

 deburr polish and lube.The thing that I didn't mention on my original post was the cost of the non functioning rifle. £20 =$30!!

I think I struck gold with that!

No doubt those with BSA weapons already know of this site, (http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php (http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php)), but for those that don't

 there's a wealth of info there, and like this one, somebody will know the answer to your question.
