Hello there airheads,
I'we recently sold my .22 regulated Marauder I wanna to buy something new and better!
I have two options for now and I can't decide which way to go, so I'm asking you to help me:
1. Weihrauch HW100 T FSB 22cal, used, in great condition
(http://www.dodaj.rs/f/S/Hb/2CbEKaV4/weihrauch-hw-100-t-fsb.jpg)
Pros:
- Quality made
- Regulated (factory)
- Multishot (14 rd magazine, 2 with the gun)
- Probably better accuracy than the second gun
- Great thumb hole stock look and quality
Cons:
- I've already own literally the same gun but in .177, only difference is that my has the compensator instead of FSB (shroud)
- Small cylinder (175cc vs 315cc)
- Lower power than the second gun
- Lower shot count than the second gun
- Very long gun (with supplied additional moderator even more), 44.3" vs 28.5"
- Even used is more expensive than the new other gun, $750 is used, and other gun is $620 new
2. SPA P12 Bulpup .22, new, 2y guarantee
(http://www.dodaj.rs/f/3M/4v/49RbD5A2/p12.jpg)
Pros:
- It's a compact bulpup, much shorter than HW100, 28.5" vs 44.3"
- It has a lot bigger cylinder (315cc sv 175cc)
- It has more power, about 25 vs 33 fpe
- It has better shot count, at the same power level HW100 will have 30 and the P12 will have about 50 shots
- Cheaper for the new one, $620 vs $750
Cons:
- It's China made, although it's much improved than the earlier versions
- I don't know what's the stock quality
- Barrel can be great, even to overshoot HW100 easily and can be a little worse than the HW100 barrel
- Single shot (not really a con, but)
- Unregulated (also not really a con, in less than a price difference between the guns I can buy quality made HUMA regulator)
What I want is an accurate airgun, but with good shot count and good power, and of course for as low as possible money because I have limited funds!
Also, I prefer bulpup over long gun because I've already own one, but, if you guys think I should go with the HW100... ;)
The difference in price is lets say HUMA regulator and 3 tins of JSB Exact Jumbo Heavies (1500), or about 15 tins of them without regulator (7500)!
Answers please! ;)

;D If you want power and good accuracy in a Bullpup rifle I would look at the Cricket they are both and not terrible expensive for what you are getting . In all fairness I would go with the Weirauch just for the better quality and I,m sure that it can be tuned for a bit more power if that is really needed for hunting.

Now for the disclaimer I don't have personal experience with any of the 3 rifles but the Cricket is in my want list and many of the members here rave about their Crickets

Maybe, but cheapest Cricket I can get my hands on is about $1100 so it'a a bit far fetch.
BTW, I'we edited prices in original post since they weren't in $US.

You are comparing one of the finest engineered and manufactured airguns with one of the crudest. But since you want a bullpup get the P12 if a Cricket is out of the question.

For what you're looking for, I'd say neither. Look at the Evanix & Hatsan line up. You should be able to find something between those two that'll fit the bill

Sometimes crude just works. The germans, am one so I can say it, are famous for over engineering to a failure. 10 parts where one would have worked.
I say buy them both!

There's really no comparison quality wise, HW wins hands down. I'd get the HW and if the length bothers you get a bullpup kit from guntuning for it. P12 is single shot and at least the early versions needed a lot of work to become decent guns. If you are keen on DIY then Evanix has much better bullpup guns to start with.
-
@ scrane: As the rkr said there's really no need to comparing it in quality, but the P12 also have some advantages.
@ Mod90: I don't want Hatsan and over here Evanix is very, very expensive.
@ StevenG: I know what would I buy with a bit more money, but I'm limited to that price range, so will it be used HW100 or new P12, we'll see :)
@ rkr: Well, I would really like to have bulpup, but I don't have money to buy that kit. It's a single shot but I'm OK with that, sooner or later there will be multishot kits for sale. This gun are much improved by man called „Wingman“, so it should be just fine from the factory. Only thing I'm concerned is a barrel quality...

1) accurate = HW
2)power and shot count = P12
3)-$$$ = P12?(after mods)
Bullpup = P12
Well you know all about the HW
which from what I gather is guaranteed to
be very accurate and has one up over the P12 its regulated giving it
greater consistency hence better accuracy...but if you put a regulator
in the P12 and later on if you want a repeater breech then I think it wins out.
I do think you might miss the repeater part though?
just some thoughts,
Joseph

In my opinion, HW100 TK, no questions asked!! :o Can't go wrong at all with an HW.
Mrod .25 is the only Chinese pcp to ever consider ;D (I want one in the future). You never know what those Chinese factories use and QC is non existent..
-
Sounds like you want the bullpup and need validation. Forget the better-made (and not-overengineered HW100). Get what you want to get in the first place. I myself would not be in a dither over the two choices.
-
I would either save up till I had enough for a cricket or bullpup a marauder.
-
rear cocking bolt on a bullpup sounds like a real PITA to me. gotta pull it away to cock it. not sure if that matters to you but would be a deal killer for me

The mrod is not Chinese.
Chinese factories likely made whatever you are typing on now.

Talking guns here... Airgun forum you know... ::)
And Crosman is 99% Chinese-sourced besides the GM .25 barrels. It doesn't say built in America for nothing, otherwise it would say made in America.
Yes, the Chinese factories did a great job on this iPad :D
Back on topic, as someone else suggested, getting the better gun and converting to a bullpup would be the wiser choice!

HW 100 all the way. My 100 is 177. Have it detuned to 900 fps, and I'm getting 65 full power shots. Gun is a tack driver, and well balanced. HW is some of the best quality you will find.

Tom, it looks like you won the wood lottery with that stock.

HW on quality alone. Since I have gone to the HW brand I have not looked back. :) The only other consideration besides HW would still be in Europe and that would be Air Arms. Quality is something that can not be ignored, and something you can pass down when they pry it from your dead cold stiff hands. :)

Any evidence for that percentage?
Maybe buying the HW is a better idea, but I can't agree on the conversion. Do any have decent triggers? The bolt will be in a not ideal spot, etc.
