Title: Refinements to Prod Blaster
Post by: FuzzyGrub on March 10, 2015, 08:38:58 AM
I have had this gun for a while.  The cold weather has kept me tinkering so made some refinements to it.

Removed:

- Mrod shroud
- Breech riser
- Custom BB
- Custom TP
- Challenger Hammer Pin

Installed:

- JG Shroud (from another gun)
- Hill Prod LDC
- Stock parts for BB, TP, and pin.

This took my cheek weld from non-existent to a just touching one.  If I add a thin pad, should be fine.  This did make it a little longer, but have the option to shorten it on demand, at the expense of noise.  With the LDC, sound levels similar to Mrod shroud.

Also did:
- Fixed a very slow leak
- Free floated the airtube from gauge forward.
- Added 3/4" to LOP with some black king starboard
- Added some HP fitting from McMaster Carr to extend gauge within 1/8" of stock

Along with the pad, need to retune to 20 shots @ 29-30FPE.

Existing Mods:
- Mrod 22 cal, 20"barrel
- Custom JG airtube (8" longer than stock)
- Boyd's Blaster Stock, inletted by Norm, action is very tight :)
- Mrod Gen I trigger Pack and brass washer shims
- Mrod Gen I trigger guard
- BSB O-ring Buffer

That looks extremely nice!

Norm inletting a Blaster stock to fit a Prod has my attention.

Edit...
I see now that it's not just in letting to fit the Prod to a Blaster stock.  Looks like the trigger group from a Marauder rifle at a minimum?

Yes, the pistol trigger group will not work.  He will inlet for Mrod trigger group and trigger guard.

I haven't checked the price of a Mrod trigger group and trigger guard but I'm surprised there aren't people standing in line to get a blaster stock for Prod.  I've read a lot of negatives about the OEM Prod stock and the longer I have mine the more I become interested in some nice furniture for it.  Yours makes that desire even stronger, of course all of your mods make the entire package mighty apealing.
