Title: THE BEAST...
Post by: PIPERMAN on March 01, 2015, 03:33:32 PM
Time : Yesterday
Airgun.
Break barrel airgun.
Power.
Cruel brutal unstoppable power.
You look at the pellets size and you can't believe you shoot them with a springer.
Power.
The target exploads and the bullet goes on hitting the pellet trap making a huge hole.
Unstoppable power.
Accuracy.
You hit anything you aim,one shot one hit.
You look in your hands and you know this is not another gun, this is THE GUN.
Only one name for it,THE BEAST...
And at that time the alarm rings and you wake up,time to go to work...  ;D
While having my morning coffee i was still smiling,no matter if some is near fifty, had many many many airguns,
has read almost anything in forums, the myth of the super magnum accurate spinger is still there...
I went out for work, had in mind to stop and buy some pellets,i was nearly out.
So at about 13.00 i happened ( ::)) to pass by a store,a familiar store,
i parked the pickup and went in for some pellets.
While waiting i noticed a brown box, something was written on it with red colour,THE BEAST...
I was wondering if i still see a dream but no,the box was there.
You know how it happens...  ::)
the box came home with me...  8)

Didn't clean anything,didn't enen wipe her,straight from the box,10 meters,on rests,
i needed just 3 shots to adjust the iron sights !!!

Well,my impressions so far...
Nice and accurate gun, everything is easy with her.
There was some serius twang with the new gun,so i opened her about 3 weeks ago.
It's very easy to take the stock of and then remove the trigger.
Then you have to remove this stupid screw that is holding the block

In order to take the piston out you also have to remove this stupid pin

Then you have everything out

The factory seal doesn' t looks good but works just fine with very good obstruction (not sure if this is the right english word)

The factory spring (18.3mm x 23.5 cm)

The spring guide

Everything was cleaned up,a jacket for the spring was made (plastik) inside the piston.
There was some molly to the seal and the back of the piston and sg3 to the spring.
Very smooth now,no twangs ir similar sounds  :P
Shoots the AA 7.9 with 604 fps and the 8.44 with 598 fps, thats 6.5 fpe.
Groups with the 8.44 are far better than with the 7.9 grain, haven't try the 7.3 yet but i thing there's no need to,
i happen to use the 8.44 to many of my other guns and they shoot just fine with the 30.
So to MHO if you want a smooth accurate gun go for it :)

I've got a six foot tall Amazonian bombshell packed into a 5'1" 105 lb package for a wife!  Looks like you got the same thing in an airgun. Great things DO come in small packages!
That is a fantastic new rifle. I really enjoy mine. Thanks for sharing and I loved the build up of anticipation in the story!

May I sugest icing the shoulder and perhaps a heavy dose of non steroidal anti inflamitory drugs. Beer always makes me feel better too.

An excellent choice in rifles my friend. I have an R7 myself and am alive to tell about it...

you might want to rethink this. I just picked up a Santa Rosa R7 and it absolutely loves the 7.33 (better then the 8.44). Mine is slinging them at 660-670 and the sound of the shot with them vs the 8.44 is much nicer.

A friend will give me some 7.33 to make a try :)
Today with the 8.44 the gun was very very accurate.

Congrats on the new hw30.  The R7 is my favorite springer.

FWIW, I have also found the JSB 7.33g to shoot best in mine.

I have lots of fun with my R7s!  ;D  I also have great performance with the JSB 7.3 pellets as well.  They seem very accurate out of all of my low-powered springers.  I keep a good stock of them on hand, as I go through them pretty quickly.  I think your new beast will like the "light diet" too!  ;D
