This is good thing! Now we don't have to support @#$%^!

Which model would you recommend for a hpa conversion?
(any advantages one has over the other?)
will this tank thread right on were the Co2 bottle does on the Qb79?

or do you have to make a tank block?

Depends on how much power you want Joe. If you want 15-20 fpe, a 79 will do the trick. If you want 25-30+ fpe, definitely the 78. PM Jason (nervoustrigger) about it. He has done quite a few.
-
I would basically agree with that statement, although you can get more than 20 FPE from a QB79.... Search the PCP gate for "QB79 Ninja".... The 2" diameter 13 CI tank fits the existing tank block perfectly.... Make sure you stay below ~1500 psi and keep the 1.8K downstream burst disc in place in the regulator on any of the QBs with stock parts....

I like the 78 - I've got mine in .177 and I can adjust the RVA from like 10FPE to 20FPE. I've got it set just over 12FPE now and it seems to be most efficient here.

Bob is absolutely right (as always...), I was just thinking of efficiency.

80 shots at 25.5 FPE.... Efficiency is 1.21 FPE/CI.... and it shoots like this at 25 yards....

I put a new stock on it as well....

the 79 will clear the 13 cu in tanks with no problem? no 4rch3r special magical tank block needed?
-
Correct, the HPA tanks are under 2.000" (just) the 9 oz. CO2 tanks are (usually) over and need the spacer....

Thanks for all the answer's I've been doing a ton of
reading this morning!very tempting...
Thanks again,

Bob, did you use your Max-Flow valve in that build or was it in something else?
-
Yes, that was the build I used my Max-Flow QB Valve in.... although there are certainly big-bore QBs that flow more.... but they are custom valves, not a modded one...

So, that same tune (25.5 fpe in a QB79) without the Max-Flow valve would have decreased the efficiency correct? Perhaps significantly?
-
The big difference with the valve was it allowed me to increase the volume between the regulator and the valve seat by eliminating the front half of the valve.... That was the key to getting that level of efficiency at 25 FPE on only 1200 psi.... It is easier with a QB78 at the higher power levels.... and the more FPE you want, the less suitable the QB79 arrangement is, because of plenum volume.... Still, more power than a Disco and 3 times the number of shots makes for a pretty nice HPA conversion....

Since when did Beeman start renaming the Industry Brand QB series?....
Bob
Beeman/Marksman (Chinese owned I believe) out in Cali has been the importer of the Industry Brand line for several years. Looks like they've decided to rebrand them as theirs as well.

As far as I know, SAG, Industry, and Beeman are all the same company.
