Title: Utto, I am about to have a screw driver in my hand.
Post by: Booger on February 17, 2015, 09:10:13 PM
Well my B50 comes in tomorrow, I will be home Friday. Mr Mike told me: I will do the striker tip mod so you can adjust easily and add delrin weight to striker and Mcmaster-carr spring...should give a good count..

Now my question, Where do I get a delrin weight & spring? What size spring? How do I go about doing this? I am beginning to think I might add to my shed collection.  ;D

If I am successful (which I might not be) what & where would a good regulator be found?

Edit: I just shoot these, not fix them. LOL

- spring, you might PM Scarlettfire, I think he said he had a couple spares.
- regulator, motorbead swears by the one made by Milo74, he would probably be the guy to PM on that
- Delrin hammer - I haven't heard a particular reliable source on that one.

I think somebody could male a few bucks just putting all this stuff in one package with instructions.

You can put away the screwdriver…will need to get out a set of Allen wrenches.

The part that is getting changed is the part that goes INISDE the striker.

There are those who have made a whole new striker, but  most of the posts have been about changing the above steel part for something lighter.

Bad news is that no one makes a commercial part…it’s something owners tend to make.  Can be as simple or complicated as you want to make them.  Figure I’ll be making one in the next few weeks, will see what’s in the shop junk-box that can convert.

Get creative…have even made one from an old screw driver handle:

Can also just reduce the original steel version to a kind of thread-spool shape to lose weight:

For testing, used the above “spool”, wrapping copper wire around the spool to test various weights (even used lead wire in one test).
