I may be in the wrong area of the forum and if so my apologies
Hello everybody, yet another newbie. Been shooting all disciplines on and off for 50+ years and yesterday bought a 1 year old non functioning .22 Lightning at a boot sale. The reason that it didn't work was that all the action to stockscrews were loose and the safety catch lever was jammed in safe position by the woodwork. Tightened screws and bingo! all OK, but I don't know how long it has been left cocked. Went and bought a tin of JSB Exacts and fitted an old 4*15 taco scope that I've had since the year dot! Fired a 20 yd 10 shot string for grouping and got a tad under 1" cc from a leaning on the wall stance, (getting to old to kneel). Then zeroed the scope at 30 yids and now all shots in the black. Then I found the forum and here I am.

Welcome mick..........great to have you here!!!!! ;)

Thanks for the welcome and glad I found the forum.
I'm going to strip and clean the lightning as it's a bit twangy and fierce on recoil at the minute so methinks it may benefit from a
deburr polish and lube. The thing that I didn't mention on my original post was the cost of the non functioning rifle. £20 =$30!!
I think I struck gold with that!
No doubt those with BSA weapons already know of this site, (http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php (http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php)), but for those that don't
there's a wealth of info there, and like this one, somebody will know the answer to your question.
