Title: How many psis / shot?
Post by: rkr on February 08, 2011, 05:54:25 AM
I lately converted my Nighstalker to HPA and now I've been trying to tune the air consumption. Chrony is unfortunately unavailable at the moment (it's been snowing for several days) so I decided to check how much air it uses. I have a 9ci tank pumped to 3000 psi and going from 3000 to 2000 netted me about 50 shots. Now I don't know how this really is calculated but if I multiply the 9ci by that 1000 psi I get 9000 and divide that by 50 shots, then I'm using about 180 ci*psi air per shot. Do you reckon that's OK or should I adjust the springs to get more air out? The aim is to get closer to 800 fps out with the stock barrel.

hi..
Heres the numbers...
9ci = 147cc
147cc divided by 3 = 49cc  ( 1/3 tank pressure "1000psi" used for 50 shots)
49cc divided by 50 shots = 0.98cc used per shot "average".
0.98cc x 206 = 201cc at normal atmosphere.
(( 1 atmosphere "14.6psi" compressed 206 times = 3000psi))

Its clear in my mined/ hope yer can follow it..
