This is all in my opinion but let me make my case. After finally finding some good inexpensive scopes such as Hawke, leapers and centerpoint that held up well to recoiling airguns, i thought i'd share two of my absolute favorites, The UTG(leapers) 35 yard fixed parallax scopes in a lightweight 4x and a more serious 3x9x40. Both scopes feature the TS platform and the angled sunshade but the variable 3x9 is equipped with the extremely strong locking target turrets with a return to zero feature. The 4x has a bushnell style/copy? click type turret that has held poi on many different air rifles. In my opinion that is one of the most redeeming features of these two scopes, the fact that they will truly hold where you set them with no or little "walking" as the guns recoil settles them in. On top of that i've found the turret clicks to truly move you the way you think they should be making you go, a rarity among inexpensive scopes.
Since these have no adjustable objective, they are factory adjusted for common airgun shooting distance of 35 yards, perfect for a hunting or plinking scope, actually works fine for targets too. They don't focus well until about 10 yards out but are more or less good for infinity after that. I imagine parallax becomes an issue somewhere past 50 yards but for a spring gun these work fine. With no AO to adjust, these are faster scopes to use, simpler with cleaner lines, lighter weight(10.8oz. for the 4x!), shorter but brighter and less expensive than the AO models. How can you beat that? I'll add to that and say that the anodizing on the tubes is very tough as the 4x in the pic was my test scope for quite a few rifles sighting in. I've left this scope at factory optical center and mount it on new guns as i get them, since the scope is centered it lets me adjust my mounts as much as possible to center, before mounting another scope and making minimal adjustments as well as keeping it near optical center. After all the mounting and dismounting, not to mention some sliding around, the scope isn't scratched and looks and functions like a new one. Now i've adjusted and used it on a few more rifles and it's working like a leupold. Can't ask for much more than that. But..
With these you do get more ;D The scopes come with mounts and flip up sunshades for a total cost of about $23.00 for the 4X and under $50.00 for the variable at optics planet, while they last and probably will be sold by Airscopes for a similar fair price even as prices go up with new shipments. But for the moment you can get either of these very tough scopes for about $2-3 bucks an oz., quite a deal.

Strange, no replies...
I got the Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 on a Chinese B3-1, for those who dont know a underlever .177 springer. Mine has good optics up to 10, once reaching 12 gets a little blurry depending on light conditions. It took me a while to get use to the eye relief, now its on the fly with no eye relief "hunting".
And like always, faithful to the Winchester 4x32...
Thinking on getting another one, not sure if Bushnell Trophy XLT, or try out the Leapers 5th 3-9, the Mueller 4.5-14x40 or Hawke Optics.

Do you have a link for the adjustable scope? The only one I could find at optics planet had a 100yard parallx

I see the date is recent, let me know how the 23 dollar scope holds on after some abuse.

Hey Guys, i hate to say it but it looks like pyramid and optics planet both have stopped advertising the 35 yard scope. The 4x has now been on 4 different springers, none of them magnums but rather medium springers. It has not moved a single bit once it has settled in, which does take a few shots everytime you adjust it. Other than that it holds and is looking and working like brand new. For the money they are a bargain, If ever they cause an issue, i'll add it to this thread, thanks for the replies. Jeff

I have several Leapers, and they all work well. I also have CenterPoint and Hawke.

Just for an update, at approximately 700-800 shots, the 3x9x40 leapers lost it's back reticule.. the glass is just rattling around in there, my next post on leapers will be on how they handle customer service ;D J

It really is ;D Of maybe 10-12 leapers scopes it's the first one i've had go south on me. So now Hawke becomes the only AG scopes i've never had a problem with. J
